Any idea what happened to the other two routes?
“A total of eight routes will be announced on Tuesday 10th November serving a mixture of business and leisure destinations to mainland Europe and beyond.

Routes would appear to go head to head with Jet2's offerings just up the road, but maybe as their focus is on holidays rather than flight only nowadays, the market will hopefully be there.
Sadly the AMS offering is no competition to KLM's services to LBA & HUY, & daily JER is ambitious on an EMB195.
Still - all good stuff and hope it works to put DSA firmly on the map and stop the critics who just want the Airport to fail.
Hope Peels legal team have got the 'long term' deal sewn up, and that there is no option of a repeat of Easy's one summer presence.

I don't think you can compare DSA and BOH, totally different things. BOH is a short drive away from one of their biggest bases, and in an area with little business traffic and seasonal demand. My take on BOH is, they started STN and BOH at the same time and both seemed to be an 'interesting' development. The Manchester Airport group is the common factor and MAN is a massive base for flyBe, maybe the reason for STN and BOH was to get a deal at MAN, and MAG said you have to try the others for us, they did, it didn't work, BE get what they want and just had to experiment with BOH and STN probably at marginal cost.
As for DSA, Sheffield City Region is a big, untapped market. Only served by airports that are 70-90+ mins away by congested motorway or precarious cross pennine routes. DSA is a well equipped airport, with a brand new link road opening, and a large population with no competition. FlyBE get first mover advantage and find a profitable use for the aircraft. To me, I think it has significant legs and would hope it will grow ..
But that's just my opinion ...

DSA - NQY
Good luck on the Newquay service, a real money spinner - I think not
Does NQY still have the IOS route? If it has there could be mileage there although I'm not sure that Donny would be a good starting point.

Yes, cornishsimon is correct - there is no Codeshare.
The connection would work quite well though with DSA-NQY-IOS. You can fly DSA-NQY 08:10-09:20 but the next NQY-IOS flight would be at 13:50 (every day), so a 4.5 hour layover, arriving into Scilly at 14:20.

Mind you iv always thought that skybus would get better numbers through NQY by offering codeshares to ISC !
No idea why they don't. BE, BA, EK, AY all have codeshares into NQY on BE so it would seem logical to me.

I'm told from an airport employee that AF/KL codeshares should be put on the CDG/AMS flights in the new year.
Bit of a false start really as the flights start in March and will have been on sale for a few months without the transfer possiblity - hence lost business as it should have all been lined up at the same time.
