Runway was closed for about 15 to 20 minutes, light aircraft still departed, no passenger aircraft affected, I believe a private jet was held up for a while. Not great but not 'closed for an hour'

Looks like Aer Lingus Regional have loaded there winter schedule into the system and Bournemouth is the only destination not covered from 26 Oct so looking like its been cancelled , very disappointing news

I wish it was true but the Dublin 2 Thread says differently as does the Aer Lingus Timetable
In fact CWL sees an increase in flights and BLK 4 flights a week
A real shame that Aer Lingus cant even make a go of the Dublin route , loads averaged about 45 pax on the 4 flights that operated each week during the winter months , but obviously not good enough
Back to tumbleweed in the winter months

Well, nothing is bookable as of this morning on the RE/AER website beyond 26th October 2013 for the BOH, CWL, BLK, IOM or ABZ routes to DUB so I cannot believe that the whole timetable is yet loaded. I cannot see SEN-DUB, for example, just being a daily morning rotation but that is what the booking engine shows at present.

BOH May 2013 passenger statistics
75,822 pax up 2.5% on last year.
Dublin had awful numbers at just 1,265 pax down a whopping 43.5% on last years 2,237. Even Exeter handled more passengers to Dublin: 3,117. I don't understand how the results can be so appalling.

Dublin averaged about 35 pax each flight out of a 42 seater , it goes up to 6 flights a week from start of July however still looking to finish at the end of Oct , haven't heard if its returning for next summer
Loads were good on all Thomson flights including the new route to Endifa with a pax load of about 176 per flight . Strange though this is not being operated next summer unless Thomson Holidays sub it out to another carrier like they have done on many of the Exeter flights
Would be good to see the return of a Crete charter flight next year but who knows with Bournemouth

Ryanair staying this winter?
Do not take my word for it by I think it might look like Ryanair is considering flying to Bournemouth throughout the winter this year.
See my recent post (#988) on the "Ryanair-9" thread for more information, just to save me duplicating the post here and potentially annoying some users.

Yep i agree its only been put on sale today and Ryanair re started this year with an extensive programme in March with good loads so would imagine they will sit and wait like they have done before to see how bookings progress
Alicante , Murcia and Faro etc will appear hopefully from late Feb onwards in due course but this is good news and common sense finally that a small programme is now operating through out the winter from Bournemouth along with Thompson and Easy Jet

I suspect its what we already new last week but confirmed in writing !
One other off topic bit of news is the news for Bournemouth and a small coup really , is the the work that has just started on the former BASCO/ FRA / Cobham hangar which housed the doomed A330 RAF Tanker project which finished this year
The hangar has been sold to a private Middle East operator of the 747 SP VP - BAT which visits regularly
Work has started on the frontage extension of this hangar to enable the length and tail section of the new 747 800 BBJ to be accommodated VQ - BSK !
It also looks like he will be keeping the smaller 747 SP for his daughter and will be kept in the Cobham hangar which he leases space from
Not many local airports in the UK can boast a 747 800 at there airport !
