From what we have been told, next year will see the new aeroplanes in exactly these bases. I know nothing of the supposed "big earners", however there is a strategy behind ring fencing the new aeroplanes to certain bases at first, that is the requirement of different sets of spares, by putting the aeroplanes in just the 3 locations, there is no requirement to have more spares in the system at other bases.
2 "new" ones based at Newcastle at the moment - is there really any differentiation between "new" and "old" model 738's when it comes to basing?
