BHD flight deck will have to operate the flight as they are LCY ops trained and the aircraft is technically a BHD aircraft, the one that was an operational spare. (Any other base that operates to LCY the trained flight deck can also technically operate also). However it seems the same set up arrangement as the ABZ-LCY when it was originally launched.

I can see the crew night stop in CWL and operate CWL-LCY-BHD or
CWL-LCY-CWL-BHD and then the aircraft does a few rotations from BHD and then does BHD-CWL-LCY-CWL that was the crew only stop away from base for 1 night and the change of crew is done in BHD on an operational flight.

Just love the wannabee schedulers ... Who's to say that the afternoon/evening airframe is the same as the morning one?

And unless a crew can go from late's to early's they're going to need two crews overnighting in CWL thus not essential to change crews on a daily basis.

The Norwegian B787-8 has been scheduled for maintenance with British Airways Maintenance Cardiff (BAMC) for some time. This is due to BAMC being a Boeing GoldCare partner.

Excellent news, don't think anyone saw that coming really. Great days of operation for a weekend break, and yes will probably be A320 operated. Success from VY has no doubt played some role in this.

Great to see a new flag carrier at CWL too.

Do Iberia Express offer the customers choice to through check to onwards destinations from MAD ??

Iberia have a great amount of flights to South America which would be a good alternate to AMS.

Iberia Express, strictly is not a flag carrier. It's a LCC offshoot of Iberia, who of course are a flag carrier.

No doubt they'll be offering connectivity into the IB network at MAD.

You might be interested in this from the Iberia Express website

Iberia Express is a Madrid-based airline operating short and medium-haul flights. The company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Iberia, competes efficiently and sustainably in an increasingly complex market. Iberia Express provides its parent company with profitable direct and connecting flights, thereby supporting growth in Iberia's long-haul business.

It's great to see a change for the good at CWL these days, thumbs up to the CWL team for turning the place around........

You can now fly direct to nine capital cities......AMS, BHD, TXL, DUB, EDI, LCY, MAD, CDG and FCO, such a change to this time last year.

Fingers crossed there is more to come for 2017

Sorry to be pedantic but DEN HAAG or The Hague as it is often referred to is actually the capital of the Netherlands not Amsterdam as a lot assume it is.

But excellent news for Cardiff and hopefully the airport will see more success in 2017 and it has been amazing to watch it's growth over the last couple of years.

Its great to see Cardiff has bounced back again :-)

Iberia Express - Madrid

Excellent addition to the CWL route network. Should build well as Barcelona has done with Vueling.

Incidentally, the EU certainly believes that Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands (see link below), albeit parliament, the government, supreme court and other important organs of state are all located in The Hague.

Sure is a good bit of news......I hope there is more to come too over the next couple of months.......

Iberia is a good catch for CWL especially with the connections via MAD.

Be great to see PRG & MJV return next - both of these had great loads back in the BMI baby days

The seat of the government usually dictates where the capital is as in Bern in Switzerland or Den Haag in the Netherlands so find it surprising from the link you posted!

I hardly see the relevance in a city being a capital or not. There are plenty of big and important cities throughout Europe that aren't capitals.

Should CWL management tell airlines not to bother flying to those big important cities simply because they don't have capital title?
