There is a good chance that after a long series of reductions FR will finally announce some new routes and destinations. At least concerning Poland, where Gdansk will get a couple of new routes and Lublin's brand new airport will be added to Ryanair's destinations. More details tomorrow.

And most probably those new routes can be found in the Wizz Air route map
More to the topic - there are some 1 PLN fares from Warsaw Modlin on routes like that.

"Sometime ago I wrote a blog in which I predicted that there would come a time when Ryanair’s performance would begin to falter because of increasing customer dissatisfaction with its business model. That time may have arrived because of the power of social media." - writes Shaun Smith in Simpliflying.
"In July Ryanair reported a 29% decline in profits despite a ‘six-fold’ increase in marketing expenditure. At the same time, its closest rival, easyJet, reported better than expected results based on a strategy of steadily enhancing the customer experience".
"Ryanair’s response may be to try to upgrade its service on the basis that it cannot drop its fares any lower, but the problem is that when you have spent so long forging a strategy and culture that places cost reduction way above customer service that avenue is essentially denied".
"So perhaps we have reached the point where the free PR generated by Michael O’Leary’s highly quotable statements and the €51.6m spend on advertising is starting to be eroded by the negative word of mouth generated by disgruntled customers as a result of poor experiences with the airline."
The entire text can be found here.

Afraid its a rather simplistic view from the author who claims its social media that is impacting profits rather than year on year events. Claiming something he said in 2009 is now happening is even stretching credibility a bit.

Bournemouth update
No not true, BOH base not operating for nov,dec and jan. reopens 1st February. Just the same as the previous two years. In fact this year the base is remaining open for a week longer than the previous two years to catch the later than normal school autumn half term holiday.
Most of the Pilots are flying from LTN for that period or surfing/skiing/scuba diving on our annual leave which we tend to save for the winter.
Bournemouth loads, yield and inflight sales are consistently amongst the highest in the network, when was the last time you saw any BOH flights for £5.
The reason no 'announcement' regarding BOH is because there's nothing to announce.it's just the norm now. BOH now a seasonal base - learn to live with it - we all have.

Not sure where the author of the article obtained his information but during Q1 Ryanair reported a growth in traffic of 6%. Fuel costs rose 27% during that period and I would think this was a more significant factor factor in the fall in profits than any impact of social media sites.

Btw. Too extensive route/frequency cuts can backfire as well. I was just attempting to organize a group visit for customers from Germany; 20 pax, HHN/TMP Monday 26.11. and back TMP/HHN on Friday 30.11.2012. The amount to pay before luggage fees and CC charges appr. 277 EUR/pax was simply too much to accept in VERY low season (remember: using lcc). It's killing traffic even more.

You say:

Don't you mean that RYANAIR tend to save the unpaid leave for the winter?
None of my pilot mates in FR can even get a day off for a wedding in the summer season. Stansted, Birmingham and Edinburgh bases before anyone asks.

Official Valencia Fuel Report Confirms Ryanair EU Ops Compliance?
That settles the problems in Spain in July.

Diversions to Glasgow
Three flights into PIK tonight diverted into Glasgow, after a small river burst its banks and flooded the main runway, knocking out some lighting apparently. One departure managed to get away from runway 21, after taxiing "gingerly" through the puddles, this was before the airport was closed to landings.

Timetables on website
After the upgrade of the reservation system in late May this year, it was no longer possible to look up the flight timetable of a particular route on FR's website without making a dummy booking and going through Captcha.
Looking at the timetables section of the website now, it seems like someone's been making a go at fixing this issue, but hasn't got it working yet - keeps showing a message "Could not connect to server. Please try again later"
This is not meant as a "aren't Ryanair terrible" rant , but just a desire to see something fixed and working again.
Anyone with knowledge of FR's internal workings know when this is likely to actually be working, without necessarily giving a firm commitment to a hard date ?

Hand luggage rules waived for duty free at GRO
It would appear that at part of the deal FR has with Girona airport management, duty free purchases are allowed as an extra to normal "everything in one bag" rule.
We saw quite a few pax with DF bags and were told by FR staff that as long as the bag is an official DF one (costs an extra 30cents) they are allowed on as an extra.
I wonder whether FR have had to do similar deals with other airports?

This DF bag thing is a nonsense.
At Manchester DF, it clearly says you CAN take a DF bag on board RYR as extra, whilst at Bremen, it clearly states you can't......please lets have ONE RULE universal !! Simples.
