Well no surprise here, press release link below.
nebusiness.co.uk - News - Business News - Airports director stepping down after sale
Did he leave or was he pushed ? one asks. Well even from a neutral perspective then the answer is in what the article doesn't tell the reader. I wonder what options someone who has presided over the spectacular failure of DTV & DCS actually has to "mull over" ?
The positive spin is that VAS have clearly taken little time in clearing out under achievers who eventually ran out of places to hide !
I hear Hugh Lang has departed Peel.

Andrew for info – it was RAF Tristar ZD 953 and it was around for half an hour or so doing approaches around lunchtime yesterday.
On other matters, a positive start then. VAS hasn’t wasted any time in clearing out the long term non-achievers associated with DTVA, and at long last the self publicity media machine has been seen for what it was, a load of cobblers.
The CEO of VAS has publicly stated in the last couple of days that his intention is to initially focus all of the company’s efforts on DTVA before they even think about DSA and LPL. He believes there could be some business synergy between DTV and the other airports owned by VAS as the company can offer better financial incentives to operators. Cyprus was one specific example he mentioned, but I can’t really see any local or regional demand for flights to the other airports owned by VAS in South America, Jamaica, etc. although many years ago I believe there was a service from DTVA to Canada using DC8’s.
We’ll have to wait and see what transpires because lets face it, we heard something similar when Peel came marching into Teesside a few years back and look where we are now!!. If the CEO’s fine words can be backed up with the right people, and some tangible results in the next month or two, I’ll begin to feel a lot better about the long term future of my local airport.

We may have heard it from Peel, but atleast Vancouver can say they have airports internationally - perhaps making the links can help both the airports in one way or another.
What Vancouver need to start with is getting transport up and running to the terminal - Bus, Train? Support Metro?
While doing this though, they need to actively advertise the current services available regionally or nationally, to make their point.

It will be interesting to see who Vancouver actually rate in the Management ,at Teesside especially. I have a feeling the new man was only a stopgap for publicity purposes. It is good to see the deadwood at the top of the tree being cut before the cleaners are culled.I do think Vancouver could take this really seriously and great things may be in store if all things remain even.
If you work there and are reading this I suggest you keep your head below the parapet and do everything the new management ask of you no matter how stupid it may sound.

Vaguely spotter-ish and thread-drifty, but does anyone know what the SAS 737 was doing? It launched off 05 around twenty minutes ago. I seem to recall seeing it last friday, too. I worked for them for nine years, so have a connection.
Oh, and it was indeed a Tristar the other day, bashing around the TD hold a few times by the looks of it. It looked significantly lower in the hold than other stuff.
(But I suppose there's not much traffic to conflict....)
r
Update:- I've had a look back through a couple of pages and Oslo charters are mentioned. I take it that this is what SAS are doing.

Does anyone know what plane went overhead (looked like heading towards DTV) at around 20:40? Quite big, two jets. Thats all I could make out - Couldn't see any branding because of its path.
Doesn't seem to be on the Arrivals board...

One person has been thread banned because he was attempting a sideways ID of another person. That is not allowed.
The continuance of this kind of witch hunt is abuse and we will not tolerate it.
Anymore and the thread gets closed.

I have looked at the last 20 or so entries on the thread and can't see any sideways entries dried plum. Am I missing something or have you typed in this ominous warning on the wrong thread ( unlikely as that may seem for someone in your great position)
P.S. Can you tell us what a sideways entry is please?

He must have been like lightening Johnny. I looked at the thread about 10 mins before the threat of doom and it looked the same as it does now. He is obviously all seeing and all knowing. Godlike in fact. I bow in homage to the dried plum.
