The Skyliner website is reporting that G-TAWV/W have been reserved for a couple of 738s currently with TUIfly (the German version). Just for the summer or permanent transfer?

How long to refuel the 767-300? Dropped in to Man enroute from Newcastle to Barbados, nearly two hours seemed a long time. Too many passengers not informed of the stop enroute, I know that direct does not mean non stop. Speaking to a TUI captain on holiday, he said Newcastle non stop to Barbados was no problem. Any comments?

The 76 is perf limited out of NCL. The take off performance on the day limits your maximum take off weight so I guess they couldn't squeeze enough fuel for the conditions on the day and tech stopped for fuel required. In terms of time on the ground, well that's just a variable from the service given on the day.

My friend flew from NCL to Barbados in December to meet with a cruise ship; they we're promised a Dreamliner right up to the day of departure and were given the excuse of a technical issue on the day as the reason for the swap to a 767. Their stop in Manchester was for approx 2 hours, during which time they were kept on the aircraft. They flew a 767 on the return leg too, despite the same Dreamliner promise.

Sounds like the 76 was used to combat schedule disruption. The spare capacity tends to come from the coal burning fleet which steps in to keep the show running. It does happen unfortunately. 76 today launched to SFB, doubt that was planned, the old girl just keeps on saving the day! Not nice if you expected the dreamliner, granted.

It was planned. It will do MBJ tomorrow and LGW-SFB on Wednesday as well. Transition from Winter work (Scandi/Cruise flights) to Summer work (SFB, increased CUN and AUA) requires extra capacity around Easter.
Two based in MAN for short haul this Summer, one on standby and the fourth remains in Scandinavia. From next Winter they will be doing the bulk of the TUI Nordic work in the Winter.
