It does seem strange the 752 positioning in this evening as ZZ positioned in from Cambridge this morning to join ZS to give the two based 738's. Like mentioned above may just be a one off, it's scheduled to operate the PMI according to the flight number

G-BYAW is doing the same as last year where it operated the first flight to Palma of the season. Thomson has 2 x B738 aircraft at Cardiff and the B752 at present and only the B752 & one B738 will be operating tomorrow.
It maybe something to do with capacity on the first flights to fill the hotels for the 10/11 and two weeks holidays

GLA-SAL cape verde
approx 2865m - a 757 mission - full load non-stop northbound? should be OK?
no probs for a 763

SAL = IATA code for San Salvador, in El Salvador, Central America.
Agreed no problem from GLA to SID (Ilha do Sal, Cape Verde islands). SID used to be a very frequent, although albeit unscheduled, "splash & dash pit-stop" for numerous airlines' full B707s and DC-8s, which had intended operating non-stop from EZE, GIG & VCP etc in South America, onwards to their European destinations.

Went to Sal last year on a 757 from BHX with TOM, not the most comfy as it's quite a trek but it's shorter slightly than Boa Vista as north of it. Six hours from BHX so going to be pushing seven from GLA though. Has a long runway from what I recall to accommodate SAA jumbos who needed it as a refuel stop during the apartheid era.

G-TUIB Brake failure after LGW-CUN flight
Apparently G-TUIB suffered a brake failure after LGW-CUN flight 17-May-2016, and the return flight has been cancelled
Anyone know whats happening with respect to getting passengers home and people out today?
