Jimworks,

Legal contracts have to contain an element of consideration (ie monetary value), as these were given as prizes ie gratis I don't think it could be deamed enforcable in court. However I stand to be corrected as in my field I deal alot with business to business not business to consumer contracts.

Regardless, whatever Silverjets reasons I think it's a bit of an own goal.

Is this a pilot rumour network or trip advisor?? Ticket complaints?

Tonights very positive announcement about the secured funding for Silverjet should silence a few of the Silverhaters however I cant help but feel they will just find something to moan about. Oh well it keeps you off the streets...let it now begin....

With all the doom and gloom in every industry I for one wish Silverjet all the best. Use the money wisely and be prosperous!

Good luck to my friends at SJ.

NOW WILL "YOU KNOW IT ALL BUT DONT KNOW DIDDLY SQUAT" NUMPTYS FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO.

What will you self righteous armchair philosophers come up with next.

Atmosphere- why dont you go outside and play on the swings.
Stansdead- go play in the middle of the road. (M1 preferable)

the only reason I did not join Silverjet in March 2006 was simple. They could not answer the question then and appear to struggle now.

As I would be joining a product, how do you propose to protect it?

I do hope the investment keeps coming, but as is sure here, 4k of +ve word of mouth, priceless. 4k of -ve word of mouth, will come back to haught.

I may be missing something here, but I can't find any announcement from Silverjet that the deal is complete. There are a load of Regulation 8.3 statements on the investor section of its website listing stock positions which various people and organisations have taken, but nothing to say that the deal is complete (or that it has CAA approval for a foreign investor to take a significant stake, for that matter).

If the deal is 100% done, can someone point out where the official statement is? If there isn't one, then I'd probably think it best to wait for one before celebrating. Unless, of course, the CEO is not updating his shareholders in a timely manner - and it wouldn't be the first time! If you wonder why some people hate Silverjet so much, a good starting position would be the Chief Exec's cavalier attitude towards shareholders on matters such as this.

Great News

Albert Hall,

As with all good companies the staff get told first.

Its rather difficult to tell the stock market when its closed.

The market is opening up very nicely for Silverjet now.

Quote taken from Reuters website re proposed investment

"This move provides timely reassurance as to Silverjet's financial health and leaves it well placed to exploit the gaps in the market left by the demise of Eos and Maxjet ... a market that now belongs to Silverjet," said Douglas McNeill, transport analyst at Blue Oar Securities.
Keep the champagne on ice until Tuesday.

You're quite correct, LeavingonaJetplane

I had tried to link to an update on another forum but it took too long to load, so was seeking an alternative positive link to post here.

However, I have now been able to read the good news for myself as the link has subsequently loaded; I post it here for all to read as nobody else had before now.

Like i said earlier how many handouts can Silverjet get before they get no more.
Only a matter of time before Silverjet joins Maxjet and Eos. This set up is very good at the lies and cover-ups. They lied to staff about what was happening with Flyjet and turned them into a laughing stock and now at Silverjet they lie to staff, customers and investors, Guess I should start looking for a new job now AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There will always be the 'begrudgers' wherever one goes or whatever one does in this life.

I am looking forward to flying to the west coast of the USA with them in the not too distant...and who knows...maybe even onto Australia.

T'would be fantastic to have a 'round-world' trip via Silverjet.

Well I work for them, and its not all Silver perfect. Australia are you joking that would give them less chance of survival than I already expect.
My CV's are being posted out first thing Monday morning and i'm not the only one doing so.
I agree with other posts. Silverjet cant survive in the market and they have already had so many handouts which give false hope then they need more and more. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

The champagne has gone to Sparkling Wine..

I have to agree, maybe if they were based at LHR they would have a chance, LTN,STN and even LGW will never work with this product .

Something very relevant that is worth bearing in mind; the new investor will already know the stats for April, so they can't be that bad.

Why on earth would an airline like SilverJet stand more chance of survival at LHR? That is absolute rubbish. Have you not seen the amount of private jets using LTN? I'm sure these are all doomed to failure as well!? Luton has provided SilverJet with an executive lounge, something it would not be able to achieve at LHR. In terms of location LTN it is just as accessible as LHR from London, especially from north London.

SilverJet's choice of hub has nothing to do with their bad performance financially. Unfortunately it appears they are victims of bad luck and a ruthless financial climate where we are seeing people seeking the lowest price rather than the most comfort. It is absolute poppycock to suggest LTN and Stansted and Gatwick are to blame for the demise of these types of airlines.

Please remember that Silverjet is still gobbling cash. All of the cash has to be repaid before it can be said that the airline is trading at a profit. That looks to be a very daunting task.

Colegate - not true. Profit is simply revenue minus expenses (latter of course includes interest on loans). A company can quite happily carry high levels of debt as long as it pays the interest & repays or refinances when due.
