BMI will add an extra 6 weekly flights to DUB from March 27. BMI Regional will operate the extra flights.
The whole DUB timetable is all over the place. Shows as A320, A319 and RJ145.
Monday 4 July
4 A319
1 RJ145
Monday 11 July
3 A319
1 RJ145
Tuesday 5 July
3 A319
1 A320
1 RJ145
Tuesday 12 July
2 A319
1 A320
2 RJ145
Can BMI chop and change aircraft from Week to Week??
Also I didn't realise that they use a A321 on the DUB route during the winter.

Is this a recent change re BHX?
The LH booking engine shows the A319 ending Friday 6/5/11 and
then it is an A320 until late October.
After that the night-stop aircraft is a LH Cityline EMB190.
I trust the booking engine has still to play catch-up?
Also could you tell me the config for G-DBCB?

Well I'm not sure what is happening with the BHX schedule. It was meant to be an A320 from Mar but maybe operationally this isn't possible. Will try & find out.

I wonder if both MIDO and MIDS will be fitted with ?Brown LH seats and then based at MAN/BHX.
That would leave 4 Mid-Haul A320, 7 Mid-Haul A321 and 2 Mid Haul 330s (one 42C one 24C?) at LHR. In addition to the 11 A319s for Heathrow-UK/Ireland/Europe routes.
I guess the additional A330 will do the work of the 757 (FNU, I think). Does anywhere else on the network need the range/capacity the A330 offers?

I believe the additional a330 will work as a direct replacement for the 757 and will cover Almaty/Bishkek and Freetown routes.
Does anyone know if the a330's will get new brown interiors too?

The A330s already have the brown leather in business so I guess they will need to do economy to keep in line with the rest of the fleet. They may want to recover business as they were a bit tatty when I was last on.
I wonder why they are using 24C temporarily considering Saudi is often more than that. its often full or well into 30's pax in business. Yesterday LHR-RUH operated with 37C, 149Y
What happened to the rest of the business seats they had for the 2 A330s. There should be 36 of the beds kicking about.
It seems that they would lose revenue potential even for a couple of months to have less business seats than an A321 operating that route....but I guess they know best.

I think the A330s were put in C/Y config for their leases. I think it's 24C recliners and all the rest Y at TK.
The flat beds should be in EMA, I would imagine. Whether some/all of them will be put into 'BM after C check, maybe someone else could comment.

In effect we only have 2 midhaul A320s ('DH/'DK) Although 2 G-MID a/c ('DT/'DX) have been converted to have a fixed business cabin, this was to cover for the a/c that were in EMA for repainting.

G-midt & G-midx
Any idea what interiors will G-MIDT AND G-MIDX have after their refits? Not sure if they will remain with 2 separate cabins with a fix mid-haul business class or will they be converted back to shorthaul configs.
Feedback from anyone on how the new short-haul brown seats look and their comfort compared to the old blue seats?

I believe now that G-MIDY will be ferried to EMA on 11Mar for new interiors & not G-MIDX. Both of these A/C will, for the mean time, stay in their current config of 20C 108Y. They will be used on the daily TIP service & also other shorthaul & occasional midhaul.
Having flown on one of the ex-B|MED A/C yesterday that hasn't been refurbished yet, I have to say my opinion is the brown seats look 100 times better! Yes, they're brown, but much more smarter & professional looking. Just my opinion. Pax comments are very positive too. What do others think?

I must admit also that the new brown interior on the mid-haul aircrafts looks superb but for some reason I was a little disappointed with the short-haul interior on G-DBCK, the brown seats appeared darker than on the mid-haul aircrafts but i'm sure it will grow on me.
I very much welcome and appreciate the positive changes and efforts to improve the cabins and definitely feel that bmi is heading in the right direction but theres still alot of work needed on the catering side of things to bring them in line with the rest of the LH family, I really hope this is an area that is under review too.
The 'buy on board' product damages the full service brand and people will always see bmi as a low cost carrier until they provide full complimentary catering on all flights. On the UK & Ireland flights they don't have to offer much but just a cup of tea/coffee/soft drink and a little snack. BA only feed their domestic pax with some bird seeds and a drink but you never hear anyone associating them with low cost carriers!

bmi will have to do much more than putting in new brown seats on their planes. Their website is the worst and slowest I have ever encountered, full of broken links and, when it can't cope, just breaks off the enquiry with a brief "This website is undergoing maintenance" get-out page.
Today at LHR they announced at least two hours beforehand that one of their flights was delayed for an hour so pax knowing they wouldn't be going anywhere soon didn't go to the gate and probably went shopping or drinking. Then bmi began boarding that flight at the original boarding time with just two or three pax at the the gate. Needless to say they then had to do a roundup of all the other pax which resulted in the flight departing an hour late anyway. Lots of apologies but not good enough. How the mighty have fallen.

BMI today launch their daily flight to Tripoli, Libya with their midhaul A320.
Not the best time to launching a new route with all the troubles in the country.
I wish them the best of luck.
