I cringed a bit when I was flying out of GLA this evening - actually I felt a bit annoyed to be honest. Outbound GSM flight to PMI had been scheduled to depart at 14.30. Delayed to 18.30 then 20.15 I believe. A lot of very peeved off people going through international departures. Come on guys, PLEASE donīt let this be a sign of another awful summer.

Are GSM planning to send G-CEOD or G-CDPT to help the 752? Which is struggling to get back on time.
were dos it state GSM plan to return to 3 daily flights next year to YHM?
Why does the 752 not operate any flights on Friday?

If no tech problems etc, then by the time B752 returns from BRS/DUB, should be 3hr 30mins late back to YHM. Should be back on schedule by TUE evening from YHM, if no problems.
(Here's hoping)

Why is th GLA-BCN flight recurrently delayed ,normally 2-3 hours delay on a regular basis.
Where does the aircraft come in from..?
I think BCN paid the price last year as well with the BOS 73G debacle.
EZY should get their finger out on that route.

Scottish airline faces prosecution over flight to America
Published Date: 26 May 2008
By Lindsay McIntosh
A BUDGET Scottish airline has been ordered to appear before a court accused of illegally flying passengers to America in a jet that needed repairs.
Flyglobespan will be hit with an unlimited fine if found guilty of the alleged offences, said to relate to a Boeing 757 flight last summer. The criminal prosecution will be the first against a British airline in more than ten years.
It is being brought by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) which interviewed Flyglobespan's multimillionaire chief executive Tom Dalrymple under caution.
Two managers have left the firm since the contentious flight, on 28 June last year, between Liverpool, Knock and New York. The jet involved was
12 years old and its engine and pressure gauges allegedly failed as it was taking off from JFK.
The pilot is said to have reported the problem on landing in Liverpool and the jet should have been grounded until both were fixed. However, it is claimed the airline authorised the flight to return across the Atlantic.
The CAA is also looking at two further incidents involving damaged planes.
A spokesman for the authority said: "Three summonses have been issued against the company and they are for alleged breaches of the Air Navigation Orders and specifically they relate to an alleged flight operated with required engine pressure gauges unserviceable and an alleged failure to file a safety report to the CAA."
A hearing has been set for 2 July at Westminster Magistrates Court and a Flyglobespan spokesman said the firm would "vigorously contest any allegations we deem to be unjustified".

YHM probably won't get right back on time till Friday when there are no flights to be operated probably why GSM left friday empty for flights just incase the 752 had to catch up.
DUB-YHM never left DUB till 2110 can you imagine how angrey the BRS passengers must be sitting on the tarmak in DUB for so long.

Might be doing SQ an injustice?
Re Cowboys its been a long time since Gill Airways days, JF i will never forget, but SQ may have been ok,probably me confusing him with one of the other muppets that wanted cash for training, bitter no just makes me wonder how they keep turning up in an industry where everyone knows everyone.
Sorry for that

Is there anymore W08 services to be launched? It ssays on the website all routes on sale bu i would have thought YHM flights might have been kept going and BFS-SFB. The 752 will be sitting around alot except for a Tue-Wed-Thur 4 days spare.

No idea about the full reason but obviously with a large manpower pool there thats probably the best guess, but to be honest I can not see it lasting as the first time something goes wrong TD will be fuming and want engineering back in EDI so He will have someone to rant at.

My take on it is that they had to sort themselves out to satisfy the CAA.
They have brought in a couple of very experienced engineers that are ex TCX.
I understand that there is a bigger pool of engineers at MAN than that north of the border, for all the back room staff that are needed. This includes MOC and Technical Services which was lacking and l believe one of the reasons that the ETOPS approval was surrendered.
I think the CAA finding the B737 in the hangar at Liverpool may have also have paid a part in them having to get there act together quickly.

Yes.
Thank goodness the CAA has final seen through the myre of **** that Flyglobespan has been trying to hide behind for several years.
Now you can see that they have been treating their aircraft and passengers the same way as there own employees.
Lets hope it hits TD where it hurts in the pocket and Flyglobespan have to take a reality check.
