OMG this thread has "descended" in to a boring mass of rubbish, half of which I can't be bothered to read. Can we get back to more important Flybe matters?

As for the Happy Meal or lack of it who cares? PM me if it was you and I will send you a couple of quid personally. As far as I am aware kids only want the meal for the toy which I am sure you kept. Get real everyone.

As for trim issues there are 78 seats and you are allocated 1 which you sit at for in most cases no longer than 1.5 hours. That's what you pay for that's what you get. I am with MOL on this one and only this one, if you have a problem then go somewhere else.

Right useless toss over with back to more interesting comments.

Angry of Edinburgh.

I think you will find that that assumption was blown out of the water about a week ago on this thread. You quite often don't get the seat you have quite handsomely paid for. And more often than not you get no recompense for relinquishing said seat at the behest of the hi-vis jacketed Generals.

Furthermore there is no other option on MAN-SOU/INV/BHD/LRH/RNS/NWI, so poor buggers like us have to use the likes of BE with your laughable low fares.

And before you start, no I am not taking the train.

So called happy meal

I have been Cabin crew for years. I am sorry however no crew member would ever search through a fast food meal or any meal you bring into the cabin. That is why we have security to search items brought into the cabin. I find it so hard to believe. As for the crew food. Of course you are not going to find a hob, However you will find a small thing called an oven. Besides are things that quiet that we have to talk about rubbish.

I work for the flippin company and I am trying to tell you the reason why the crew would have asked for the McDonalds to have been disposed of. You may find it strange but your statement is not only ignorant of many other airlines policies but damn right incorrect. If you had an alergy to something, and I am going to go off topic slightly and use nuts as an example (as it is fairly common) would you want someone sitting next to you eating them as you departed into the big blue sky? I think not.
So, next time i am on board with my celiac nephew, I'll be justified in taking exception to the crew serving sandwiches to anyone in our immediate vicinity....?

I think Pringles have got wheat protein in them too.. oh my GOD he could have been killed!

If you are sitting in the front 4 seats which you may have paid extra for there should never be any occasion that you will be required to move. Even if the aircraft was empty but for you.

For your information Bays 1-4 are included in the same trim area so in the unlikely event of someone needing to be moved bays 3-4 should go back before paying customers. I hope you don't you pay to pre book a standard seat.

As for the only other option you've answered that one. Take the bus or train either would be full of alcoholic students scoffing 'donalds. Before anyone complains I have been guilty of that!

I am with MOL on this one and only this one, if you have a problem then go somewhere else

Re Allergies

Speaking as someone who is asthmatic and highly allergic to cat hairs (yes I know thats oversimplifing things a bit - the pathology of the allergic reaction process is highly complex) - I don't think that the smell of a burger bar meal could trigger an allergic reaction ?. Traces of nuts or hair on a passenger seat, headrest or other part of the cabin could. The smell of the afformentioned takeaway might be unplesant to other people and its probably bad manners to bring tucker aboard for this reason. So its best to eat the food at the terminal. People suffering from allergies or those responsible for children suffering likewise, need to take suitable preparation and care. I'm speaking from experence.

So no chance of me bringing one of my homemade Mung Bean & Lentel Vindaloo's onboard.

Being serious again (Re allogens of any type ) inform the CC quickly, if you think there's a problem.

What about that BHD/MAN flight not so long ago which had passengers traumatised when the cabin filled with smoke and there was a strange noise coming from the aircraft? (It was an E195 if I remember rightly?)
BHDflyer, you do not, it was a 146, GJEBE I think.
It was in the papers and about 6 months to a year ago.
Only 1 of them left now, as stated in this thread earler.

Smoke in the Kitchen

If you are allergic to common sense , this is a sizzeling good thread.

Smoke in the cabin - go flip those burgers over - I wonder if an early morning flight with a proper breakfast would prove popular.

Sorry TechProblem, but BHDFlyer is absolutely correct.

GFBEH diverted into the IOM a few months ago, with a subsequent evacuation, due apparently to a burnt out air cycle machine within the air conditioning packs. Incident still under investigation.

The 146 incident you refer to was as far as I recall, last July. Try to keep up.

With regard to allergies of pax, the crew can request that nobody eats said allergens on board but have no auth to physically stop someone eating their own food surely? We were always told that we can request this bt cannot enforce it. Would you be able to enforce it on a bus or a train? Now that would be fun to see! Anyway anyone know when BE will release their summer 2009 timetable? I know its out in part but want to see the rest! Cheers!

Yes the problem that happened about 4 months ago was the 195 in the IOM. How ever Techproblem is right when he says the above statement. On the 10th October 2007 GJEBE had a smoke filled cabin and did an emergency landing into MAN.

Yesterday seen the last flight of the BAE 146 GJEBA From Guernsey to Exeter. Sad to see it go.
