TIMETABLE is ONE word!

Looks like they got the right type of aircraft they claim to be wanting to operate on their website photo!

If Air Wales could not make CWL London City work with flight times geared to the business communtity ,what chance has a flight from CWL or BRS to Luton
got? There is a half hourly train service for most of the day and a journey time of just under two hours city centre to city centre. If this airline is genuine I wish them all the best. They may make Luton to say Swansea or Plymouth or perhaps Carlisle work with a 19 seater, but not the short hops they propose.

Come on people, give them a chance. Lets not go down the road of giving them bad press before anything has happened.
Nothing positive to say? Then why bother posting!

Re my earlier posting. Despite what I said, I really do hope that I am proved wrong. I always think to have new routes with new airlines from CWL is a good thing and am always supportive of the airport and take a great interest in what they do. It is my local airport and opt to use it wherever I go

EM0866 - here here!
couldnt agree more but even if this one does get off the ground, its not exactly the sort of business we are trying to attract.
Now the Monarch rumour - thats more like it or even BMI Baby's summer 09 routes soon to be announced- the fourth aircraft?
Thats the sort of news I want!

Yes it will be interesting to see if the Monarch rumour is true, despite what someone thinks that if they do he/she will eat their trousers lol. Also will be interesting to see what WW have in store for S09 and hopefully not too long to wait for that announcement. It'll be interesting to see if they drop EDI and GLA or not

I'm not sure they would drop the EDI or GLA route as they receive much better loads on them compared to the BFS and thats returning to x 2 daily in the winter. With the possible 4th A/C they may consider re-introduce GLA to a 2 x daily.

With the GLA, EDI and BFS/BHD routes this winter will be the test regarding amount of passengers carried by either WW & BE and whether or not BE arrival has effected WW as the rugby season would have started, and passengers travelling on weekends to see the matches. On such weekends the WW flights used to be full.

Hi Em0866 my post was`nt directed at anyone personally just seems in general the vibe always goes negative.
I agree larger a/c with greater route demand is what we need ASAP. I just think at the end of the day it all adds to what the airport can offer

Possibly Air Transat will make a return to Cardiff, or GSM will move their previous BRS-YYZ route to Cardiff or possibly a new start up??

Replacement for Zoom

Think Air Transat already announced increasing seat availability at it's present bases for next year to cover short fall.

In present climate cannot see any of the present trans Atlantic players being interested in new routes, rather consolidate what they've already got.

Oh and the BRS to YYZ is in fact to Hamilton, Ontario (Ryan air style of branding)

Sorry guys

Globespan not selling BRS-YHM for 09, but nothing on their website from CWL either I'm afraid. So only EXT with routes to Canada next year from SW and Wales.

Canada

What about Monarch starting up a YYZ? I do believe they already operate a YYZ from one of there bases!
It'll be good to see someone like Monarch at Cardiff doing YYZ, along with the SFB route that they allready operate.

New routes

Sorry to sound so negative with regards to new routes out of the 'vast majority' of UK regional airports.

But understand the majority of airlines are going through a period of centralisation and rationalisation and are certainly not in the market for testing out new routes.

I am aware of only one major carrier flying out of regional airports that is actually increasing it's capacity soon. (Emirates out of NCL from 330 to 777).

The rest are keeping everything as tight as

Give the oil costs a chance to reduce below $100 a barrel and things might, just might improve.

I doubt Monarch would operate to YYZ. It would be operated on a tightly fitting A330 (about 360 capacity).

It would be perfect for GSM to switch to CWL. They have a ready made canadian following and could pick up from Zoom's failing.

It would be a logic move for Globespan to move to CWL after dropping BRS-YHM for Summer 2009.

CWL has had a Canada link since the 1970's so surely Globepsan must have switched onto this - look at Zoom they had 3 flights a week !!!

Monarch have also pulled the CWL-SFB flights for Summer 2009 so if CWL Management do not wake up we will only be left with the x7 flights a season to SFB from XL Airways, therefore CWL will have no other trans-atlantic flights. Gone are YYZ, YVR, POP, MCO, CUN and now possibly SFB !!!

Good luck to Maxiejet - they should concentrate more on the SWS-LTN market as Im sure they would get a better deal than at CWL !!!!
