Actually, BA is still pretty flush for cash. That's why they can still afford to fly empty 757s back and forth across the Atlantic under the banner of their wholly owned subsidiary, Open Skies!

If my savings were being eroded to the point where they'd all be gone in 600 days i'd hardly call myself flush.
BA is in a better position than most and will survive this mess but unless Walsh stops this drain of cash reserves soon, in 18 months the situation will be very dire.

Any news on the new LCY - NYC project? last heard that flights would be going via SNN to clear immigration.

When is it due to start or has it been shelved?

Not shelved, babybus A318's G-EUNA & G -EUNB are both due for delivery this year from Airbus, both in single cabin layout.

How will BA use their terminals this summer when they have both 757s and A32s on Spanish routes (MAD and AGP to name 2). Will the flights operate from different terminals?

Will be very confusing for the passengers!

I believe Spain is going into T3 with Iberia. The 757s are going, you can check the exact details on ba.com

I think they will probably just tow the A32F around from T5, or simply "base" the relevant airframes at T3 for days/weeks. Easier than moving destinations around as and when required.

G-TTOB

Does anyone know if G-TTOB is in service at BA yet? Jethros indicated it should have been at BA 1 March 09 from Easyjet.

If it doesn't involve LHR it won't involve BA.

It MAY involve LGW again as it has operated on and off for the last 15 years or so.

TTOB will entre service later in the month im lead to believe.
As for the T3 departures, it will be the same as T1 departures now that are operated by airbus frames. The relevant frame will be based there for the day and swapped around during the night, it could also arrive on T5 remote have pax can bus over from T1 and vice versa.

just FYI T3 flights will be VIE AGP MAD BCN LIS and HEL with the MAD and LIS with a mix of 757 and the odd airbus
VIE will now be a 757 route and NCE moves over to T5 to become a mix of A32X/767

767s are not going to be phased out, some are just going for cabin refits as they will be with us untill the delivery of the 787 which no doubt will be delayed

SKG and ATH

Flyer 55 -

Thessaloniki :

Operates 5 x weekly until the start of the Summer 09 timetable on Sunday 29th March which is when it will commence daily operations until the end of October. BA will use a 734 Sunday to Thursday and a A319 on Friday and Saturday.

Athens:

This route currently operates 21 flights per week ( 3 x daily) from LHR T5. Using 1 x A320 and 2 x 767.

During the high point of the Summer 09 Timetable (mid May to mid September) BA will operate 29 flights per week ( 4 x daily Sunday to Friday and 5 flights on a Saturday). Using a mixture of 767 and A320 aircraft
