Excuse i dont have any point nore am i refering to any GSM aircraft i was just picking up on Honest man point about flying 737 over the pond, and how single isle aircraft do it every day its just no FlyGlobespan doing something special. In future read my comment and others with a bit more sense before picking up on them I was only comparing it to a 757 because of a similar number of seats and its not that much BIGGER
Never mind flying over the pond! Just what is happening with the AGP route out of EDI and GLA. EDI has had its fair share of delays and yesterdays GLA flight was at least 9 hours behind schedule. They are becoming a laughing stock at AGP and EZY must be smiling.

Gsm @ Agp
We operate 23 flights a week to AGP from GLA EDI and MME.
There have been delays to AGP from GLA and EDI since Friday due a 737-800 being sent to YHM after one of the 757's lost an engine at takeoff.
5 flights to AGP have been delayed, 4 from GLA and 1 from EDI as a result of this and we have become " A laughing stock at AGP and EZY are smiling"
Get real, we have a very good on time arrival and departure at AGP, most days we are even early.
P.S. the 757 landed back at YHM safely and is now back in service.

Hi there,
A few weeks back someone mentioned that GSM were to fly from cardiff with 9 routes including Gran Canaria.
Does anyone have anymore info on this, or some solid evidence to back this up?
Cheers

GSM Scot - I must take issue with you on AGP punctuality - how many times this year has 474 been on time back in Edinburgh ? Very few I bet . It also appears that there is a mere 25 minute turnround at EDI pm , this is an impossibility . Other destinations suffer from the same thing . last year their schedules were too generous .
You should remember pax are not interested in why a plane is heavily delayed , they vote with their feet . Fortunately for you they do not have a choice with AGP from EDI ( YET )
I am also keen to know why the afternoon PMI from EDI had a 4 hour delay yesterday after on time arrival , this sort of thing is all too common .

Yes, a rather arrogant response from GSM. The EDI down to AGP has been late on more occasions than you mention and yes they are becoming a laughing stock - pax - and I have and deal with many on prof and social levels are using EZY from GLA and are going back to using BA via LGW .
Oh and incidentently, early arrival at AGP means very little to pax - while the airline might turn around a bot faster or even to schedule - pax are often left waiting in the arrival halls for baggage belt to become available at the scheduled arrival time.

Using the data on the usually reliable egph.co.uk I have extracted the GSM arrival stats.
So for GSM474 the on time performance is 52% with 13 out of 25 on time in May (on time being defined as early or within 15 minutes of scheduled arrival time taken from the GSM website). The GSM472 Malaga timekeeping is excellent with 90.32% on time so probably not as bad as you think but not as good as GSM Scot claims.
However overall timekeeping is not acceptable at 64.91% (with 86.40% within an hour) but not disastrous and way down on the 76.4%. At EDI GSM aircraft typically operate two rotations a day with the problems relate to the pm departures and this is relatively common for this type of operation to "bucket and spade" destinations.
The figures are broadly in line with the 2006 stats for First Choice (66.7% on time) and XL Airways (63.3%), however we will have to wait and see how the full summer pans out.
Apologies for any errors in calculations but I think these are all accurate.

GSM definitely have capacity issues but methinks some doth complain too much.
By the way I have no affiliation with any airline or operator but hate hearsay.

Does anyone have any word on when GSM will be posting its full Winter 2007 schedule for YHM? I hope to fly GSM's YHM-DUB route the last week of October, returning mid November, but the current schedule does not go past October. Thus far they have only posted YHM-GLA and YHM-MAN schedules.

Todays CAA Licencing Notices grants FlyGlobespan the use of an Irish 767-300 (EI - DMS) for wet lease 24th May till 24th Nov.
The aircraft the CAA mentioned is EI-DMJ belonging to Neos which is already operating on behalf of GSM.

A recent photo on the Knock thread has a few photos of some GSM aircraft parked alongside each other. It seems from a photo the GLA-NOC-BOS is operated by a 737-700 with ETOPs - can some kind person confirm. Assuming it is so how many seats is the 737 kitted out for bearing in mind the need for life rafts etc?
Thanks and hello from Cork!

737-700 @ Noc
It is a 737-700 that is operating the BOS from GLA and NOC. The liferafts are fitted in ceiling compartments on the aircraft. It is fitted with 148 seats but only operates with a maximum of 120 passengers.

737 -700 Bos
Rows 1 through 10 we don't use the B or E seats in these rows. This is part of the Economy Premium Upgrade package so passengers have an empty seat between them, nothing to do with liferaft capacity.

What must the yield be on this trip to turn a profit? Sure hope that the premium economy seats are selling well because if this works out okay for GSM there must be other similiar new opportunities out there too?

Globespan 737 CPT rosters ?
Hi,
I'm thinking of joining Globespan later on this year if they will be hiring. Could someone please email me a sample of their roster so I can see what the rosters generally look like for the captains on the 737.
Also, do they have a mixed fleet of classics and NG or is it all NG by now?
Thanks for any info.
