Flyglobespan plans new routes, and fleet expansion
28.03.07 Edinburgh-based airline Flyglobespan is set to launch a string of new routes from airports in Scotland and England. The airline made the announcement whilst revealing its latest financial results, which saw profits fall on the back of costs associated with its fleet expansion. The number of aircraft operated by the airline is set to increase to 21 by the end of this year, from the present 13. Flyglobespan hopes to have eight larger jets - Boeing 757s and 767s. |

I have been told GSM are watching the MAN-JFK route closely at the moment.
With the BA fiasco over the Connect sale, even though the route is profitable British Airways could decide to pull it as it is the only longhaul route they fly outside of London. BD could have come in but they are also centred on London longhaul at the moment. An alternative to the irregular Delta service might be attractive to BA's current punters who are (in general) not connecting elsewhere. The MAN-JFK route is a strong performer on O&D traffic, ideal for an operator like Flyglobespan. |

Globespan are NOT flying to Toronto from Manchester or Liverpool. They are from May 1st flying to Hamilton, John C Munro International (CYHM), this is 90 km from downtown Toronto and quite often takes 90 minutes to drive.
Hamilton is great, on internal flights checkin can be 30 mins before departure, on international flights as little as 1 hour. Time to spare, go by air Hen Ddraig |

From the end of April GSM would be flying to YHM instead of YYZ, im sure its in this post somewhere or GSM 4 post o well :) But yes, it should be a good move, although the YYZ has been very busy every friday for about 3 weeks now, that is also with the CPT, not sure its the best move dropping it over the summer. |

Aviance are handling them at MME so presumably bmi engineering?

I think bmi`s engs have all been shipped out to LBA while the "Barbie Jet" is doing the Heathrow service instead of the Airbus, so maybe they have got no eng cover at MME :eek:

To answer an earlier question, Storm Aviation are providing technical support for FGS at MME.
Storm support the whole of FGS's line maintennance requirement in the UK. |
GSM to operate LPL-TFS in winter 07/08 thrice weekly on Sun, Tue and Fri as GSM051/052. Flight operates to end of winter timetable in March 2008.

Hopefully LPL will get a based aircraft and do other destinations on the days not going to TFS.:)

Well the second 767 seems to have gone to Air India, as the GSM 757 oped the MAN-YYZ-MAN route today. :rolleyes:

Yes but the first 767 (G-CDPT) is currently on MX in Abu Dhabi....so not sure whether the second airframe (G-CEFG) is on the Air India contract permanently or just as a stand-in.
Don't forget that the STN-elsewhere-YHM flights start on May 2nd...this is likely to be the John Lennon logojet 757 G-CEJM as the LPL-JFK season doesn't start until the back end of May. Still no news of the exact identities of the other 757s needed for the programme. |
The 1st B752 from Icelandair will arrive on time to operate the YHM flights from STN. The GSM B752 will operate the GLA/LGW and MAN flights along with the DUB/SNN flights, until the LPL-JFK flights start.
