I might buy that argument for Ryanair, but not for Aer Lingus, which uses airbridges at many/most of its destinations. If EI mainline were scheduling 25-minute turnarounds at Cork I could understand the need for very fast disembarkation/boarding. But they're not, are they?

Shannon lost the routes because it didn't pay with FR about to murder the RE Manchester service.
RE will drop the least important route to make this work.... And that is Cork... Their Dublin network is more important to them, just like it is for every Irish and European airline flying to Ireland.
How is Shannon gaining a service to Birmingham bad news for Shannon?

Wonder is that an extention of Topflights summer charters to Verona/Lake Garda. For Lido De Jeslo and other resorts near Venice that's the flight you take, about 2.5 hour bus trip from the airport. Right bummer of a trip when your coming home, get picked up about 4.30 in the morning.

Glasgow is on-sale as normal. Don't know where this misinformation is coming from, no routes are being axed. GLA is a top-performer.

Between ORK and SNN they could use 3 ATR's, but have only been assigned two. PSO routes and continued growth out of DUB, in support of the hub there, make the third aircraft unlikely in the short term. I don't think EIR have any aircraft on order right now. It's got to the point where EI will codeshare with BE and BA Cityflyer.
I think EIR could make another 3-5 aircraft work, but maybe EI are waiting for the cityJet and flyBe deals to fall apart for a better deal, no doubt!

how are forward bookings on the 3 new routes does anyone know, it would be a great boost if the Prague service was a success and they could sustain a year round operation

udier;8967119]Some early Prague flights are cancelled not a big surprise not one advertisement for the route anywhere in Cork[/QUOTE]
I've seen a few ads for Prague and Ibiza around the clare Limerick area I'm surprised there are no big newspaper adds for it in the last week there has been a lot of ads for Shannon routes you would think daa would have a bigger budget
