So, has 3W actually sold its DH8s? If so, when will they leave? What will replace 'em? Thanks.

I was wondering for how long Euromanx operated the Dutch ATR42 and on what routes it was used?

And what was their initial route network with the Beech 1900s?

Midrif - still not sure where you're getting your information from. Stockholm it would certainly seem.....

The only ACMI a/c operating for Euromanx at the moment is the Aer Arann ATR 72 which has been on lease to them for a considerable time. The other schedules are being flown by the two Euromanx owned & crewed Dash 8's

Rumours of their imminent demise have appeared here many times before. And yet they are still here.
It could just be that they are a very profitable airline.

Very Profitable airline

Which one bral or Manx Airlines?

As they are the only ones who ever made any money on the IOM. Now its Flybes' turn to skin all us passengers for the next few years. Good Luck but I will be with the Steampacket. Nice to see the consultants make so much money out of EMX maybe this was the issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Austro7

You make it sound as if EMX will not be here for much longer, any reason for that?.

Personally I would take the plane over the Steam Packet any day. You obviously have never had to endure the seacat to/from Lpl being cancelled for a bit of rough weather and being transferred to the a end of the world ,Heysham, usually dumped there at 10pm for the 2am sailing.

The fate of EMX is causing so much worry for so many staff, it really is unfair to keep long term news from them, but that is how business works.

Austro7, Flybe is a business too, and to be angry that they are trying to make money is just crass and out of touch. If you want a service to operate...you just have to PAY for it. It's not a charity, not your devine right as a manxman to have it all served up on a plate for you.

Do you buy your cars off Island and complain the local garage doesn't pay you to drive their loan car so they can service yours? Do you expect the banks to pay you to give you a loan?

Business exists to make money. They, both EMX and Flybe, may choose to offer lead in fares that lose money, but they either turn a buck or die. It's really that simple.

EMX have tried hard to keep afloat, they advertise and market well, trumpet their strengths and try (sometimes quite deceptively but, hey, all's fair) to hide their problems. Their crews are very professional and competent, the aircraft are what they are. Circumstances have put them in a difficult position, LCY is charging the earth for landing and pax handling fees, to deter smaller a/c, and the competition for MAN and LPL has far deeper pockets and will ultimately win. It isn't a pretty picture, but time will tell.

Funny though, every time you choose a £19 with EMX over Flybe because of FLybe's baggage charge, you're digging the knife in further, because EMX still have to pay for the bags to be shifted.....

Funny old world.

Iom Lpl

in departures at LPL last week I heard 2 suits discussing IOM. They said load factors for 3w and BE were both awful (40% was mentiond)but that 3ws revenue on the route was down 40% and BE was costing them 70 grand a week. Couldnt hear after that as they walked off. Anyone on Fraggle confirm the IOM LPL April passenger numbers so far

70k per week doesn't sound to wide of the mark given that those that have switched would have been filling the higher priced seats on the EMX services.

Not sure of the total numbers, but certainly on this mornings rotations, Flybe carried three times as many as EMX.

£3.5m p.a. out of the income fund is significant. I'm sure Aer Arran don't come cheap either.

EMX have not helped themselves in the past but it would be a shame if they went under (especially for those that earn a living from them). What they need to do is come to some sort of arrangement with FLYBE to say, give up on MAN in return for FLYBE giving up LPL . As to me, both airports are essentially one market the consumer could still benefit from competition and the ridiculous overcapacity would stop.

Fred : 40% load factor could mean a profit for either airline, unless you know the yield it really means little.

manx crab you can get a good idea of yields to LPL and MAN from the websites. Flybe are really smashing LPL yields with loads of fares of £0 plus taxes and charges Great short termbut there'll be blood on the tarmac shortly Oil keeps hitting new highs every day = Costs up, revenue down
