Does having a common crew pool mean that flight deck are London based and can bid from LHR or LGW? Do cabin crew have the same option?

Cheers

I notice that Travel City Direct is now back in business, under the Virgin Holidays Family. Can anyone tell me if they are using virgin branded fleet aircraft or are they going to get some other aircraft in TCD clours??

I think that the new 25 year ad is brilliant (why did they ever change the cabin crew uniforms). When VS started most of us in the Industry didn't think they'd last one year, never mind 25!

I do like the advert! Very snazzy!

If only they'd pull their socks up in terms of product again!

As a neutral, have to say I love the video! Are the haggard looking cabin crew in old BA uniform?! See they've done away with an FO aswell.

virgin ad

I agree advert is great, reminds me of the buzz of virgin in the early days. What has happened to them? they no longer match up to the hype yet cling on to the brand name for dear life when they are, in reality, a bit like a scheduled charter airline.

Branson threatens Boeing over strikes...

Some interesting comments from Sir Richard on the Boeing strike, and why the Virgin group might buy Airbus as "they don't go on strike"...

Boeing have lost about 30 787 orders so far, S7 from Russia and a leasing company from Dubai.... It will be interesting to see who is next! Airlines will take the opportunity of the delayed aircraft delivery to get out of the contract.

On the contrary, he's keeping his foot firmly in there in an attempt to stop the outflow.

We have the 787 on order, but with the 2012 delivery date slipping into 2014 or even 2015, are we supposed to sit quietly?

So why do you expect Branson to keep his mouth shut?

They might get out, I am not sure if they will get any compensation. Delays due to strikes maybe covered by the Force Majeure clause.

American MBAs trying to fatten their resumes with a broken union is not a force majeure situation. These Boeing strikes, and there have been several now, appear to me to have been management decisions.

And I wonder how many of these 787 problems are due to the recruiting that went on at the picket lines during the engineer’s strike in 2000.
