Eastern fast trak is incredibly quick as there is no passengers wanting to fly with them anymore. I hear Lake is starting to panic now.
Treat your pax like scum and your staff like faeces. At the same time letting incompetent managers flourish and you deserve what you get.

Panic set in a while back, Mr Bristow recognised that, hence all the redundancies and Base closures. The only thing that may save EA is an upturn in the oil market, and that's not going to happen in the near future.
I hope Eastern does survive but that's purely because it has seen Flybe off the LBA-ABZ and LBA-SOU routes in recent years. If Eastern should fail, I'd be amazed if Flybe gave these routes another crack.

Eastern has set up and pulled out of SOU so many times that I wouldn't expect them there after the summer. Certainly wouldn't take the chance on a base change offer. They have tried via LBA and via LPL on the J41. Both times thin routes but viable on the J41 back in the day.

The LBA-SOU potential is most certainly there with good numbers, especially since Flybe pulled off the route, I know that from experience, but Eastern have so expertly cocked it up on so many occasions, either due to constantly broken Saabs, crewing problems or operating it as a through-connection from ABZ, (meaning constant delays) that the pax have simply voted with their feet. Such a shame.

In the past it was an ex RAF club who tell themselves and each other that they are management elite. The truth is that they are laughably poor leadersm team players and managers. With lines like;
If you dont like it you can f^ck off.
Im trying to create my own squadron.
We are the elite at everything.
Civilian pilots cannot think for themselves.
Im just glad there was never a war with them in the RAF. Wed be finished in hours.

I'm going to bite as I do hear comments similar to yours from time to time. Please don't tar all ex-RAF with the same brush. Yes, there are a few ex-RAF that are utter throbbers. Any organisation, be it military or civilian, will always attract a few obnoxious individuals.
When I listen to people spouting comments akin to yours, I often find that they usually have a chip on their shoulder i.e. that they applied to the RAF but were unsuccessful. Is that you?
Just sayin,

I'm definitely not a fan of Eastern but one thing they aren't is an ex-RAF club, neither is there any hint of that on the line. They have serious problems for sure but that isn't one of them.

OK. Expecting this attack/defence/offence from no doubt ex RAF people.
Firstly. I am in no way an failed RAF applicant. In any way. Im not SPOUTING anything. These are facts.
They were most definitely an ex RAF club started by the ex CP. And let me prove that statement.
CP; EX RAF who them made every fleet manager an EX RAF person. Trainers and any internal positions, ex RAF whre possible. Most, not got the skills for the job.
Yes, there were a few (minority) who were good and decent people But that was natural ability, not their RAF taught qualities.
9 out of 10 people I work with in the airlines I have found have the same view of EX RAF. Meaning, a minority of great guys/girls. The rest woefully lacking in people skills and leadership. selfish and back stabbing. keeping a group of themselves in a club trying to further their own aims at the expense of others and the general good.
Please remember before criticising my comments. I am in Eastern and alot of us have experienced this.
Again, no chip at all. And my Eastern colleagues could confirm that what I am writing are the facts of the past and not wild opinion.
Again, there are shortcomings in management, teamwork and leadership abilities with most (NOT ALL) ex RAF. Some I've talked to agree that they have not been trained to a high standard in these areas.
And for nimrodhasbeem. I have been in the room when these statements have been made. No rumour or conjecture. Is that the attitude, skill set and management style of the RAF. If so, my criticisms have very solid foundation. Or please tell me that 'if you don't like it you can f7ck off' is a positive way of dealing with employee problems. if you are ex eastern you know that what I've written is the truth.
And lets someone endorse the ex or current CP as people of high management ability. well be waiting for some time for that.
