In my day Eastern Airways was a follow-on from Lease Air, we chartered their DC3 one day to go and rescue one of our DC10's in need of a bogie of replacement wheels in CWL, that Eastern Airways operated Shed330/360's and then it merged, one took over the other, with Bandit operator Genair of Liverpool.

These days Eastern Airways is a fake, it is Air Kilroe under an alias.

Yes I've heard of Air Kilroe, all sounds a bit dodgy to me. I know quite a few people who have worked for EA, all have never had a good word to say about them.

Didn't Eastern do the Wick PSO for a while? How was their pricing on that route?

Looks like Eastern are going to be using a Metro of North Flying (as did Citywing) under T3 flight numbers.

Not sure if this is going to be a permanent agreement until they sort out crewing issues for a J41 ??

Re the Wick service, I think I was mistaken to assume that it is a PSO.

Jamestkirk - that's quite an accurate view of the thought processes that are prevalent at HUY! They are indeed generally clueless.

The former Commercial Director has now ended up at Loganair and was pleased to announce their new position, God help Loganair!!! A very ignorant person who dislikes crew and never spoke to them when on positioning flights.

Wolfgang5150 - You can count me in that number - worked there, not a good word to say about it!

I heard a rumour recently from within that they were deducting the pension amounts from salaries but not actually paying the money into the fund! That's unsubstantiated of course, just a rumour.

Looks like Eastern Airways are now also taking over the ex Citywing Isle of Man routes to both Belfast City and Newcastle with once daily service starting from tomorrow using a BAe Jetstream 41 aircraft.

Belfast and Newcastle air routes rescued | News | Isle of Man

Aircraft routes NCL-IOM-BHD-IOM-NCL.

Anyone know if CWL is going to have a J41 or carry on using the North Flying Metro under "T3" flight numbers ?

Someone from MME has mentioned a J41 positioning to CWL from there in the morning.....

I haven't flown for EA, I know a few who have, so have good insight into the workings of this award winning airline.
