Farfallina - the Milan contract I suspect is a bit individual with its pay etc. However, Eastern does not generally have a reputation for paying well or treating its staff well. If it is useful to you to get experience for somewhere else, then it might be worth it...

I meant that normal pay may not apply in Milan - you would perhaps need to find someone who is operating the Milan contract.

Last one out... turn off the lights...

Rumour of some seriously senior people now leaving, not just flight deck or cabin crew... but senior engineers and top management

Can't be good.. sad really.

Re Cpt. Chaos - we shall see if those that you are hinting at actually DO leave. The rumour-mill seems to have swung to and fro over the past few days as to whether they are staying.

Remember - in the words of our esteemed leaders, "If you don't like it - F&*$ Off".

Many don't like it any more....

First pic of the Saab 2000 that is to be used for the BACF IOM-LCY service has been posted on skyliner.

Skyliner - aviation news & more

Personally I think the Saab looks good in the BA livery.

BAladdy

You may be right about certain folks leaving or not... guess we'll see and see what the future brings, can't imagine things will improve.

Oh and I hear on the jungle drums, that day one of the IOM-LCY it's already gone Tech... not a great start!

Yessir, it went tech with all the big wigs waiting to wave it off. Replacement was summoned and landed just as the engineer fixed the problem - so we went from no aircraft to two aircraft Finally departed +90.

So who is going to be embarrassed, BA, the sub-contractor, or the sub-sub-contractor?

The Problem

For the last few years I have sat back and watched EasternAirways go from being a fairly good place to work, to what can now only bedescribed as a ‘shower of ****’.

There is a saying that goes something like “Never let the fear of striking outkeep you from playing the game”. So here we go then.

No salaryincrease in 5 years, no pension, no roster stabilitys.

Sure theyturn a profit every year but at whose expense? The poor hard working Pilots andCabin Crew that receive pitiful wages and get virtually no backup from an ineptmanagement team!

Seriouslyit’s beyond a joke. The question is how has this been allowed to happen? I havemy own opinions which I intend to express over the next few weeks. I’m however interestedin other peoples thoughts on the subject and how we can turn it around.

maybe they turn a profit because of the amount they pay their staff? I would rather earn a lower wage and keep my job than find myself looking for a job because the company went bust. Would love to work for Monarch, but would you want to work for a company not turning a profit?
Mrtruthbox who will you be expressing you opinion to?

Eastern could make money AND pay their staff more.

Lack of jobs elsewhere has made it easy for them to not give pay rises and treat staff badly. Thats why everyone is actively looking for work and will take just about anything.

Therein lies the answer to MrTruthBox's questions. The only thing that will cause a change in conditions at Eastern, is when sufficient people leave to force the Gruesome Twosome to do something to try to halt the exodus. This will happen when they simply cannot replace the escapees quickly enough. A gentle turnover of staff delights them, as the staff tend to leave as expensive employees and join as cheap ones, having paid for the privilege of joining (sound of cash registers chinging merrily chez Huxford/Lake).

Always remember - Mr Lake has said on several occasions that he is only here to make money.....
