Merge

Why don'y Eastern and Flybe merge. It could be called FlyEast.

It could go to places in the east like Berlin or Moscow. Although the return trip would be a contradiction, so a little confusing.

I know someone is going to shhot me down for that idea but I am only trying to be constructive.

As earlier thought, RL has pulled everything out of Rock in Aug all crews redundant. No more Eastern 41's to visit the IOM anymore, such a shame. Good luck to all staff

Can't blame the old man. IOM Airport have been FlyBe lovers for years. Roll on Scatsta

Jetstream dont think you can say they are Flybe lovers they provide as much support to Flybe as any other airline...you are starting to sound very bitter in your posts. You cannot knock a company who are trying hard to survive the all round airline downtown. As said on other threads Eastern aim at Business pax and look at BA and there biz pax! Need I say more.

Also wouldn't get too confident about Scatsa I have yet to see a fat lady!!!!

I doubt those bus ads are free - Government Depts. simply aren't allowed to give stuff like that away, as it would contravene the financial rules.

However. if the dear airport directress paid for them herself, from her piggy bank, I guess that might be OK.

Tonyq I have heard it from a very reliable source... ok they are just that but I would very much doubt it to be wrong... some bulll about advertising to promote tourism so DTL took the hit! again this is only second hand but who knows!

Spot on Maverick, however we shouldn't be surprised at Jetstream's posts. His username backs up our theory that he works for the delightful Eastern and therefore always backs them up and slags off the competition. I do it too so I have no gripe with the fella.

However, (and this is a big however) facts do seem to fly out of the window again. IOM gave, and as far as I am concerned, still give BE a very hard time so they are not favoured - in fact I am sure IOM staff would have been hyperventillating in paper bags the day they found out BE were at IOM for the long run!

It is a shame that RL has shut down IOM as a base. Clearly he was unable to prove people wrong with their predictions - what is strange is that he has pulled all routes and not just a couple. It would be interesting to see if NCL is picked up by any other carrier.

Wish Eastern the best of luck, business pax are hard to get hold of these days.

Whats that supposed to mean?

I remember hearing about manx2 with two tyre bursts and a hold door flapping over the windshield on landing. Lets not forget the Flybe 195 where the shoots were opened when the a/c hadn't come to complete stop on the runway, all on the Rock??????

Good luck to all Eastern crew based there anyway.

I'm sure RL has no remorse as he wasn't to fond of the Rock anyway.

Not so sure on what I have heard about not having the 4th aircraft. Flybe have made a number of changes including cabin crew recruitment to prepare for it. All the booking systems show it to be IOM based. It is very unlikely that they would drop LPL/MAN/LGW in favour of BHX.

Any news on Scatsta, or failing that any good rumours doing the rounds. Seems to be the longest contract negiotion ever, always getting put back a month!

Sounds like with base closures and some lay offs, some positive news is overdue?

I beleive Eastern have retained the Scatsta contract. I understand that part of the reasoning involved the difficulties that resulted from the change of operator on the rotary element of the offshore contracts, and they were unwilling to take the risk on a change of fixed wing contract.

FO's redundant

The reason for the redundancies is purely that the saab fleet were over crewed. FO's were getting monthly rosters with only a couple of sectors.
