Your welcome mate!

About the Cork connections. GSM have connections because they are able to add the extra charges onto the tickets with a good disguise - Business class seats.

With LS, Long Hual flights would only offer Y and Upper economy because of the nature of the airline - strictly LC. (Guessing they would use Upper economy as they would have to charge a fare amount for all Y class!)

If they were to fly LBA,MAN,EDI,NCL,BFS-USA with an all Y class, then there would probably be a stop off point because of the range and weight of the a/c.

Would LOVE to see a BLK-ORK-NYC-ORK-BLK! This would be great for the North West.

I don't see why not. GSM have done it!

If they could do what GSM are going to do and base an aircraft in either US or Canada, then they could really have a great chance - ahead of FR and EZY!

Long Haul LC is the new way forward. Most of Europe is covered with destinations for under £30 with major players such as EZY, FR and AB. There are smaller carriers also such as EZE and BE, not to mention national carriers!

If LS could tap into the Long Haul LCC before most of the bigger LCs then they would be able to take a great position in the market.

They would have to be quick though. AirAsia, flyZoom, flyGlobespan and that new Hong Kong based operator are all seeing the growth in Long Haul LC.

Just hope LS takes notice. With more 752s on the way, there could be a flight across the pond before long!

Certainly hope so!

P.S. These are not rumours, they are just answers to a question I came up with earlier on in the postings.

Personally Ill believe it when it happens.
If there is any long haul to come I cant see it happening till 2008 at least.
I think though LS should deffo get on the NCL JFK route tho cos its been talked about for ages and they wud make a fortune if they got in there quick before CO/AA do

Loco longhaul is a totally different business, the costs are totally different. Crewing for one example. I do feel however, that it could work from LBA and NCL but am not so sure about MAN given it already has links to the US albeit not Loco. The established carriers would probably lower their fares to try to keep the new operator out of their patch. LBA and NCL could both support US east coast and Canada flights LBA has in the past had Canadian links. I am not sure this is the way Jet2 will go however, the start up costs to gain ETOPS are not small! We can all hope if they do go this way lets hope it's soon before CO start a NCL or even a LBA/EWR.

According to BLK management, they say a US route is expected within 5 years. This is because of the runway capabilities of the 787, but this shows that it is not demand lacking, but runway lengths etc.

As EZY led the way to a revolutionary scheduled network, which was followed by over 50 more LC airlines within Europe. Could we see LS change the Charter sector back into 'the way to travel'?

With BLK looking for a charter airline to operate services from the airport, they now have this.

Great to see the airline expanding, and can see why so many more 752s are being searched for - future routes could include more Canaries, North Africa, East Med and evn further afield!

I do suspect that the scheduled prices will become higher though, with the airline offering seats not only to LC searchers, but traditional sunseekers also.

This should mean nearly all flights should operate full (even though they mostly do in the summer already).

Will they be offering Skiing hols next year? Hope so!
