Do you have any idea on destinations or Airlines ??

It was said that they were in discussions with six airlines a while back, looks like NQY is getting quite popular!!

Flybe had held slots for this route for quite a while, but I thought they had given them up recently, good to see the route is going to happen afterall, it should be popular during the summer.

What do you mean by slots,Edinburgh doesn't have them, and I'm certain that goes for NQY too!

Edinburgh does have slots of a sort. It is designated as a schedules facilitated airport, at which airline operators file their schedules into the Airport Coordination system and may be asked to make voluntary timing changes to alleviate congestion. Although they are not subjected to the same onerous restrictions as at major slot coordinated airports like Heathrow or Gatwick, schedules filed at airports like Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bristol are still visible to other airline operators, handling agents and the like. In most cases, schedules data submitted by airlines into the Airport Coordination system will drive the departures and arrivals screens at the respective airports.

Time For Some More Arrivals

With the summer???? around the corner I.e. tonight when the clocks change some summer schedules kick in.

It must be a least 2 months since they received there latest Q400, they must be due to receive some moreshortly??

With more routes due to start and leases running out on the Jet fleet are they going to be able to cope????

Down in the Channel Islands we see a least four aircraft from the Q400 fleet and we can work out the servicability by the schedules they keep or not i the case may be .

Yesterday it was a 146 down in Jersey going U.S. running 3 to 4 hours late in the afternoon but ended the day and hour late.

With 21 Q400's now in the fleet i'm not so sure that you can gauge serviceability by just seeing 4 each day. 2 new Q400's have been delivered so far this year, both at the end of January with more to follow in the coming months. Yes the 146 leases are coming to a close however there will not be any shortage to cover the scheduled program this year. It is likely that a couple 146's will disappear at some point but after that it'll be 'one in, one out' as the EMB195's come online.

Angel Dash 400s

Ref jobsagoodun

Four might not give a good indication but that works out at nineteen percent we also have the transiting dash,s go through through the zone also Exeter Paris and the one operating out of Southampton and Bristol heading south so we do have an idea.

With the summer schedules due to start from tomorrow and building up each week till September we will be seeing a lot of q400s on saturdays.

Last summer you would have seen at least nine different aircraft transit through Jersey on a summer Saturday.

My point being we can expect the odd delay creeping in on Saturdays. nes pas??

You've been VERY lucky then, the Exeter Dublin service has seen quite a few delays over the last while for "technical" reasons, including one flight I was on where the gear doors developed a mind of their own, and were independently going down and back up again without any commands from the flight deck, which resulted in a return to Exeter and a change of aircraft some 3 hours later. It was all handled professionally, so no gripe or grouch there, but whatever it was that caused the problem, it wasn't immediately apparent, hence the swap to a 146 that was positioned in from Southampton. I never did find out what caused it, and it was clear from discussions at the time that the original thoughts were that the problem was a faulty flight deck indication, so when I mentioned that the doors had been transiting, that appeared to up the ante somewhat!

And what about CK's fuel tank sensors??

Recently had a doors warning, due to wiring loom being trapped in a shut door (poor design or what!!?)

Errm, nose oleo gas leaking out, tech'd the a/c for 7 hours in BRS

etc etc.

I like the a/c but it's not perfect!

Same Airline but on a different subject, are we going to see 146s or Q400s on the Southend-Jersey route this Summer. I remember we were promised 146s last year but I believe the whole program was flown by Q400s.

Also can the Flybe experts advise whether they have considered a midweek Southend-Jersey service. It seem to me that this could be quite attractive as it would offer far more flexible holiday options other than just 7 or 14 day trips. Local Travel Agents are offering short breaks to Jersey with outward flights from Southend but returning to Gatwick or vv. For practicality it must be better to start and return to SEN.

Presumably the economics of a midweek flight from SEN do not add up.

Cheers
