Following on from Flybe's poor results, Loganair announce big profits. Flybe must be green with envy.
LOGANAIR has lifted profits by nearly 40 per cent to more than 6 million in its latest financial year as the Scottish airline optimised routes and benefited from increased oil and gas activity west of Shetland :: AD HOC NEWS
Well done Loganair.

Loganair gives this travel advice on its website:
Does it happen every once in a while or is it noteworthy - cannot rememeber a similar announcement (but maybe they are just covering their back after the SYY incident?) In other words: Are we up to a major weather related air travel meltdown in the UK or is this just one airline and for parts of Scotland?
The forecast adverse weather for Friday and Saturday may lead to the disruption of Loganair flights to Orkney, Shetland and the West coast of Scotland. For passengers booked to travel on Friday the 9th or Saturday the 10th January, Loganair will make best efforts to accommodate any request for travelling earlier to your destination, or postponing your return flight.

Having spent several years on the "budgie" operating to the mentioned places, I think they are being totally pragmatic.
The weather in that part of the world can be ****ing awful some days.
A sensible thing to do in my opinion.

@finncapt, thanksfor the inside.
As we are just at it, how has the SYY mishap affected Loganair's ops? Are they now short of a Saab 340 ahd have to readjust schedules or do they have sufficient spare aircraft to compensate for the wrecked Saab?
Another question for Loganair's insiders - I am considering a connection from Tiree via Glasgow. Is Tiree one of the more risky airfields in the West when it comes to cancellations/delays? I am looking at early/mid-April and would like to assess the risk involved in building a connection

Loganair will shortly add a 4th 50 seater S2000 to there fleet according to Jethro's fleet listings. The aircraft which will be registered G-LGNS is currently parked at BLL.
Loganair Fleet List
Does anyone know what routes the S2000 are operating and are there any plans to add more to the fleet?
Also does anyone know if G-LGNL which was damaged at SYY in early January has returned to service?

G-LGNL
No body seems to know (or share) what's happening with G-LGNL. Soem reports suggested DBR but no confirmation, still live on G-INFO page, but that might not mean much.
Would imagine its been assessed by now.
Presumably its still in SYY?

They have 2 sometimes 3 I have noticed based at NWI
They operate NWI - EDI, NWI-MAN both 3x daily and NWI - GCI on Sundays in the summer
(New purple aircraft named "spirit of Norwich")
1 is based at Dundee operates the PSO, Operates Dundee to Stansted 2x a day
1 based at EDI operates EDI-SYY also has a stop at INV on early rotation somedays, and also EDI - WIC
So 5 in total, hope that helps you where you might see them!

Shetland protests at Loganair/FlyBe's pricing
Apparently, Loganair make a profit of £10 per passenger, which is double easyJet's margin. Well done them! But islanders are not happy...
EDITED to add this link from the Press & Journal, with a great pic of a BAe ATP.
