Loganair gives this travel advice on its website:

The forecast adverse weather for Friday and Saturday may lead to the disruption of Loganair flights to Orkney, Shetland and the West coast of Scotland. For passengers booked to travel on Friday the 9th or Saturday the 10th January, Loganair will make best efforts to accommodate any request for travelling earlier to your destination, or postponing your return flight.
Does it happen every once in a while or is it noteworthy - cannot rememeber a similar announcement (but maybe they are just covering their back after the SYY incident?) In other words: Are we up to a major weather related air travel meltdown in the UK or is this just one airline and for parts of Scotland?
