Yes not a good week for BHX - a Monarch article from some newspaper posted as a link on the Blackpool thread failed to mention Monarch operated out of Brum.
Do you sense paranoia setting in for those of us living in the Midlands - maybe we don't really exist?
I suppose it is just a case of sloppy research.

So, since this is a Manchester thread............
Why don't BA fly any of their 747s and 777s from Manchester ? Surely there must be plenty of long haul travellers who would prefer to fly direct from this airport, rather than always having to use Heathrow or Gatwick ?

Thai considering Manchester flights
According to Wednesday's Bangkok Post, Thai's Airaways new Chief Executive is quoted as saying that Thai is actively considering the introduction of flights to Berlin and Manchester

[There are, but London Heathrow Airways would rather make them fly through LHR.

Hi All
Long term Manchester resident My Travel Airways, Boeing 757-200, GPIDS has now registered N304H. All accounts it's registered to US Cargo carrier Evergreen International.
She has also been reunited her engines and is currently been fuelled up as I send this message. So I’m guessing it I’ll be departing shortly.

The reason is why have 2 base's in the UK competing for the same pax? Makes little sense.

Do you have to plug your home movies so often....11 out of your 32 posts seem to and it's all rather tedious, I must say.

Same week that LPL announced big traffic growth...seems that MAN has pretty much missed the LOCO boom.
RE: BA and LHR traffic, I don't anyone who's used BA via LHR for years, seems that KLM/US Airways/ Continental are now the default choices. I don't know if that's just the people I know, or a genuine switch to more convenient flight routings avoiding the Hounslow slum.

Well yes, people vote with their feet. BA (aka London Airways) provide considerably less seats to LHR than say 15 years ago ( A319/320s as oppossed to B757 & B767s).
Hence, people opt for KLM & Lufthansa as connections & the longer haul carriers of Air Canada,American,Delta, US Air, Continental,Qatar, Etihad,Emirates, Singapore & PIA. Nobody really needs to go via LHR these days (thank god).

The on line BA timetable for June MAN-LHR shows mostly A319s, a couple of
A320s & a single B757 rotation.
As I said, A drop from the old days of all B757s bar the one daily B767.
I don't know anyone these days who goes via LHR from here, I certainly don't.
My last trip via LHR was 4 years ago & that was only because my direct flight into MAN was cancelled ( thank you BWIA)
