When you say Tui an extra 14 flights - is that compared to the 2006 summer programme or this coming winter 2006/07 programme??

Great Escape also claims in the news section that when the self-service check-in machines eventually come into action (of course it didn't say "eventually") that only four airlines will initially be using it; FCA, MYT, TOM & TCX - far from the original announcements of practically all regular charter airlines & T3. I knew that bmibaby were originally in on this because we trialled the system for the airport, but some of our ground staff are convinced that bmibaby or bmi regional will not be taking part, as we have no control over troubleshooting, or some other such story.

Passing through Arrivals this evening, and saw a lengthy delay on the AJet Larnaca flight. Anybody got any details?

When did the airport officially announce CUSS? I hadn't realised any official announcement had been made.

I don't really think that they need to announce it - difficult to miss noticing the bloody great green machines in the check-in hall.

Here is a good 2+2=5 case

BA/GB Airways Tenerife

EMA on BA drop down menu and another thread had a rumour of two more UK airports getting flights to TFS. Best I can do

Jet has been rumoured but all the quotes from newspaper articles
has mentioned Heathrow (from ATQ) and BHX.

An expected development for NEMA Things certainly seem to be picking up now, can the terminal cope?!
The fact that NEMA has appeared on the BA.com booking engine is certainly an interesting co-incidence, would they really launch services from NEMA?

BA used to fly out East Mids years ago. I can remember doing loadsheets for ATP's operating to JER/GCI back in the early 90's.
I also remember the times that BHX used to fog out and all of the BA operation used to drop into EMA and operate onwards from there ! Nightmare and one of the reasons I decided to transfer to OPS !

Didn't BA (Regional/Citi Express) offer a JER-EMA-JER in the past on Summer Saturdays. Maybe they're to offer this again but selling seats direct?

Have heard roomers around the airport that BA have been down to 'have a look' at the facilities recently. Didn't actually see them around. Would be interesting to see how the terminal would cope with all these 'new' carriers and destinations springing up!

Hope there's some truth in at least a few of these stories floating around at the moment.

With the exception of the German & Italian markets, all of BA Connect's routes out of BHX are already well-served from EMA, so I would be surprised if it was an announcement by BA Connect to launch short hops. Obviously the rumour that two more airports would get flights to TFS, my bet would be on them being existing BA hub cities (like BHX) rather than flying a couple of times a week into EMA, however stranger things have happened!

Hi all,

Does anyone know when or if an announcement is going to be made regarding BA/Connect/GB possibly starting operations from Nottingham East Midlands??

Cheers.

GT is the rumoured airline. They are also adding a 3x weekly BRS-TFS service. No aircraft will be based at these airports, instead most flights will be operated by MAN crews and some LGW staff.
MAN is dropping five of it's routes for the winter.

Whats the betting both airports served in a W pattern from MAN hence the reduction in routes from MAN but no based aircraft at either EMA or BRS?

Apparently Ryanair are poised to announce further NEMA expansion also.
Look's like it might be a busy winter!

Have heard from a ServisAir guy, not the most reliable person I've ever spoken to, that it will indeed be BA making an announcement this week regarding EMA.

Did someone say an announcement is due today (Tuesday) about the 'important international airline?
What are our bets?
So far its been hotly suggested BA.
Will it be the TFS (or TFN) x 3 weekly as mentioned - or a more significant presence?
Also suggested - an Indian carrier (maybe Jet Airways) with route/s to the sub-continent.
Place your bets please.........
