is there any pilot jobs in Botswana, Namibia and Tanzania?
Hello everyone,
I just have CPL in my hand. I've being hearing that there are small charter companies in Botswana, Namibia and Tanzania which can hire low time pilot like me. So wanted to know if anyone is hiring right now? I also found out that they don't hire on phone or E-mail so I am planing to go to visit them personally and will try to deal with them in their office. Is it good idea? pls need some suggestions. Thank you all.:) |
Research
Cavortingcheetah your reply was a bit unfair at least the chap is asking.
If I was you flying4love I would rush straight across there, this is a great time to get recruited, loads of jobs going. A CPL and say 100 hrs and you will have no problem. The companies will pay for exec jet conversions and the pay is about 5,000$ a month plus living expenses :ok: |
In regards to CC post :ugh::ugh::ugh:

'Lilfly old boy' I am only trying to help
I will be back in Maun in November for 6 months. Don't worry chaps, too old to keep up with you guys. Have a great and safe season. |
The subtlety of the head banging eludes me but I have removed my post which suggested that people run a full research search on previous posted information before posting their own questions. In the great spirit of African fair play so beloved of the colonial masters let me say that indeed it is a good idea to go to Maun and deal directly with the charter companies. Whether one can bribe one's way into a job by offering large amounts of $s or one's sister or a camel is a topic as yet fully unexplored. The success of such a venture would depend upon various circumstances not the least of which would be, perhaps, which way the wind was blowing in Uganda.

Isn't it true that you should get a thirteenth cheque and also that one company at least which reminds one of Sol Kerzner pays an initial month's salary up front just for joining the company?

Really ? Can anyone else substantiate this ? |
Yes ... sorry about that.. bit too subtle for me before breakfast... I'd better go and cancel that first-class ticket. :uhoh:

I think Wilderness actually does pay a 13th check. Although it wasnt paid this year as the new manager wasnt happy with his employee's!

Need 1000hrs for licence validation in Zambia. Bit hard to get 1000hr guys onto a 172.
There is ways around that rule but it is a long and hard road. |

Looking to fly as Co-Jo C208
Good day!!
The company that I am with at the moment wants me to fly +-300 hours co-pilot on the C208 before I can fly as PIC. I only get to fly 1 week in 2 months as co-pilot for the company. Currently I've got 65 hours co-pilot on the C208. Any company or freelancer that got an open seat and can help me??? I can do your VFR/IFR flight planning, flight plans, flight folios, nav logs etc... I am based in Pretoria. Send me a PM. Thanks!! |
Hello There,

Where to...?
Forgive me if i'm in the wrong place with this question, another pprune virgin here.
I am an unemployed pilot with a total of just over 1000 hours (mostly single engine), I hold a current MECIR along with a class 1 medical and a few ATPL subjects. My reasoning behind becoming a pilot was that I wanted to travel the world and see most of it from the cockpit window at 30,000 FT. i'm an Australian citizen, in my very early thirties, trying to figure out where to go next. I would love to work in different countries, experience contrasting cultures and learn at the same time. Europe would be ideal, plenty to experience there, but how much of a task would that be? Licence conversions, visa requirements, job opportunities etc. Asia and Africa would also be locations i could consider for a post. Any information/advice on any job opportunities, licensing/visa requirements, pay and working conditions around the world would be greatly appreciated. Bless all, Fly high.. |
