Air Nigeria Crew stranded in Dakar

I had the chance to meet with the Boeing crew of Air Nigeria on June 1st and was surprised to still meet them on ground in Dakar for over 11 days when I had my second flight into Dakar today, Seven Crew members of a Boeing 737 are still in Dakar .

The crew told me that Air Nigeria is Owing the ........ International Hotel the amount of $137,000 which has not Payed to the hotel and That the Crew are not allowed to have Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner during their accomodation , which they did not have any Meal option since their Initial stay on June 1st, and soon will be ejected from the hotel. Also that Air Nigeria did not send any money for food allowance and Etc. The company promised to send money for the return of the crew from Dakar on arik flight and yet the finance department is to approve the money.

I felt very bad when some of the crew members were crying becuase they were hungry and did not have money to call their families. Some female crew said that she was unable to purchase .......Pads for her personal Use
and higene.

Its really not nice of me as a professional Airline Captain to say that i have offered lunch to 2 crew members. Ohhhhhh My God, Wow I have never seen any body eat that much and quantity of food. I also feel ashamed to tell you one of the crew members had to hide some food for probably dinner.

honestly speaking I almost cried and Thanked god for the Airline i was working for, I have never seen such behaviour of an Airline towards its crew such as Air Nigeria.

May God have Mercy on these Crew and bring them back home.

Shame on Jimoh Ibrahim !

I just hope these are facts, because it's beyond astounding, it's vulgar. It also reveals how much pilots should close ranks to withstand owners. Some of said owners are just animals, evidently

No funds for crew but it seems there is plenty of cash to send a Wet Lease
A330 to and from LGW more than half empty. Nothing like getting one's priorities right is there.

Dear Capt

Thanks for your mail below.
Unfortunately the country manager says there is no point for the GM Finance to be giving approval for money they have not sent to Dakar. How does Gm Finance what him to buy tickets for 7 crew and pay for $3,780.00c feeding allowance.
I am beginning to get pissed off by flight operations and Finance department sending deceptive mails saying they have approved money that does not exist.
Now we are unable to make tonight's flight on Arik due non transfer of funds from finance department Lagos to Dakar country manager.

I would like to let it be known by all that Air Nigeria is messing with my family life and has held me captive here in Dakar against my will, the rest of my crew feels the same way.
I have a female crew here who's husband is very furious and can not believe that an Airline such as Air Nigeria would abandon its crew in a foreign land without money to feed let alone bring them back home for over 12 days.I had to speak with the husband to calm him down.
My wife also believes that i am lying to her and that no airline in the world would abandon its crew.(She needs to know the reality in Air Nigeria)

Capt you are the DFO and its your responsibility to bring your crew home!!!
We stand the chance of having members of the press exploit *this unfortunate situation.

Arik air fly's again on Wednesday morning by 1.30am,Please for the last time, ensure finance department sends the money to Dakar tomorrow.
Please do not let me take actions we will all regret.i have been pushed to the limit.

Capt xxxxx

Hmmmm looks to me here that headbraker and phenomenon are one and the same person considering their probationary post.

Well if its who I think it is I am not surprised.

Enjoy our flight back tomorrow to lagos. I wish I was rostered to dakar ......
