Virgin Nigeria is surposed to start a new route to Darkar today. However, rumour has it that the plane to be used for the service (ex easyjet B737) failed the acceptance test last week or two weeks ago.
Is VK still going on with this lauch ? Another question is why are they going direct to Darkar ? I would have thought it would make sense to stop at Abijan to the way to Darkar.

Oba
I hear from my contacts that Dakar is going ahead as planned on the 16th, not today. I was made to understand that this route is not affected by aircraft deliveries as it will be operated by the aircraft already in service. It departs from LOS late at night when the current domestic fleet is free.

Flying to Darkar at night, so departure out of Dakar will be in the morning. Thats a very sensible move compared to what Bellview offers, which is depart lagos in the morning and get back with full loads of pax into lagos, late at night (2.am).
Speaking of Bellview, am not sure they will be too happy with VK, as they seem to be targetting routes operated by B3. Its a long race as they say in B3, lets hope VK gets to the finish line. Zazoo, any inside comments ?

They are looking for pilots who actually can manipulate control surfaces,
What else would you like to know?

Upper Class Suite

Any information on whether the 2nd A340 being prepared now in Dublin is equipped with the Virgin Nigeria equivalent of the new Upper Class Suite by Virgin Atlantic?
Thanks

Rumour has it that the second Virgin Nigeria B733 is now on its way to Lagos as I type, being flown by VK CP. I will verify this on Monday.
