Birdstrike
Birdstrike with a stork
EMS helicopter from Salamanca base, Spain. You can see the remains on the left of the helicopter. It just struck the top of the head of the pilot. Blood went all the way to the back of the helicopter. The helicopter dove rapidly and the medical crew in the back could not see if the blood was from the pilot or the bird. Nobody was seriously injured and the helicopter landed safely.

ToTall,
That world record heli went down in Morocco later that year. All escaped with their lives but the machine went up in flames. The locals in the area then took whatever was left of it...

I just did see this in Cape Town and thought that it was down here.
Heliskiing
It started as a joke among some Navypilots after a couple of beers during a Squadron Party, followed by some trials and hard training and ended up as a highlight on an Airshow of the German Naval Airwing 5 in the 1980s.
BTW, one of the Pilots in the Helicopter was from the British Royal Navy.

Photo flight from Kona airport to the North Kohala area of the Big Island of Hawai'i
Headed north for the Kohala mountains
Lava flow just north of the Kona airport
Mauna Kea in the distance (>13,700' high)
Home of a doctor that developed one of the erectile dysfunction treatment drugs – see swimming pool!
Headed southeast for Waipio, not too far from Hawi and Kapa'au
Some of the many canyons
WaimanuValley – headed into the gorge
Lahomene Falls, in Waimanu Valley
Waipi’o Valley
Getting ready to pop over the ridge, through the blue hole yonder
Four Seasons resort, built on top of a lava flow. This doesn't seem terribly smart to me
Headed North West on our way back to Kona

CDNRH,
I'm glad to hear you liked them.
Those are a few of the better ones from my collection.
I think I might have crossed paths with you many moons ago. I was the 100 hour pilot sent to close the Northern Mountain hangar in Terrace and I spent a bit of time harassing the driver from CHL while he was unwrapping his 3 feathered chariot. Was that you?
I attached another pic of a couple of the talented longline/mountain drivers. Craig K. and Ryan H.
later,
ttf

Mister K (the Newf) and Mister H (Brokeback guy) Are two of the best in that area.
That Newfie keeps following me around the industry, I expect to have him as an F/O some day.
They are both great drivers.
Send me a PM.
Nice to see the old orange paint still on the tarmac.
I miss that base like you would not believe.

That was when flying was still fun.
Actually, thay most fun I've had with my pants on.
Some pilots never experience that much joy in the industry.

BTW,
I prefer the orange and blue paint job, the current CHL management should think the same.
Sucks to be them.
