How much does it cost to train with CTC from 0 - fATPL? Do people run over budget and have to pay for extra flying hours? Do they take on many people who have just finished Leaving Cert/A Levels? How long approx. would you have to wait for employment after qualifying?

Apologies if I've misunderstood your question but isn't that the point of the Wings Cadets scheme as opposed to ATP scheme? If so, you should find all the information you need here and here.

Well guys,

I sat stage three on Friday and still have not been charged for the pleasure?

So I do not know why people are being charged, x7 on my course and not one was charged....

And I failed to meet the grade incase anyone was wondering...... I'm not bitter, I enjoyed my 1.5 hour long interview?

Sorry to hear that YYZ

I think as far as the charging goes everyone from here on will be getting charged. You must have just sneaked in.

Good luck with your plan B whatever that may be. Did they mention the possibility of a second chance?

Sorry to hear that YYZ - I'm sure it was all good practice anyway and you've learnt a lot and will nail the next opportunity that comes your way. All the best for what you do next.

(and as for charging ATPers - things have changed in the last couple of weeks.)

Hey YYZ - Which one where you??

Hey YYZ - I also went on Friday, and did not get through. I have asked for feedback, but the email said it would be unlikely.

Re the Charge

Re the charge - it is only for cadets as far as I know. Mainly due to the fact that they have a sim check on their phase 4.

ATP feedback

Guys,

If you fail stage 3 ATP are you sometimes offered a chance to resit does no mean no? If so can you reapply, ie from the beginning? What are your plans now?

The reason I ask is that I'm the other way round. I failed stage 3 but got invited back. If that goes to sh!te can I go away and get my CPL/IR and then apply for ATP. Personal experiences welcome.

Good luck for the near future.

Invite back

Hi rev,

Wish I knew. Myself and a chap below got knocked back at phase 3 last week but we both have FATPL's. We had applied for the ATP, so if you got invited back then thats great. Dont think it will apply for us.

Hi Stevej,

Did you make it?... as far as I know so far, out of the x7 only 1 got through, still waiting to hear from some though?

As for feedback & a second chance, don’t think that happens for ATP, not bothered about a second chance as much as I am about feedback, but, it’s clear from the start that neither are an option.

Good luck one & all, if you get through its a fantastic opportunity, & have a plan B!! Mine starts today!!

No go for me

No, didnt make it. Its a real shame - thought everyone performed ok in the group stuff, but of course we are not aware of the standard they are recruiting to.

Hi

Having attended on the 11 April I can confirm that both Cadet and ATP selection has been merged and they follow exactly the same process up until Stage 4.

So

Stage 1 - Application Form (No Cost)

Stage 2 - Introduction to the wings scheme (Covers both ATP and CADET paths)
Maths Test (15 in 15 mins)

PILAPT tests (7 tests, they take approx 1h 15m).

Stage 2 costs £164.50 for BOTH ATP and CADETS. (the people that got away without paying were the ATP candidates that applied prior to the application process going online.)

Stage 3 - Group Exercises and Interview. (No Cost)

Stage 4 (ATP) AQC course ( Cost approx 7k I think)
Stage 4 (Cadet) Sim check. (No Cost)

Hopefully that clears up any questions over cost or format for ATP candidates.

Cheers

Sky Wave,

Were you red or blue group and did you get through to Stage 3? I was red and passed!

Red Group. I was on the computer closest to the door. I passed. Absolutely amazed because I felt certain I'd failed.

Are you on stage 3 on 25th?
