Paging, or Virtual memory, is it wearing out my SSD?
Seems that if the load is not spread, this busy function could be the thing that kills my not too big SSD. Partitioned 100gig for C and same for D.
Is there anything I need to do to make it spread the target addresses or is that automatic? I assume causing the paging to be sent to a hard disk (E or F) would be very counterproductive for speed.

Best thing is to check the SMART data for your SSD. I don't know about yours, but my Intel drives have an indicator showing how much wear life remains on the SSD, and the one in my laptop is still at 99% after three years running Linux, so theoretically good for about three centuries. Windows is more aggressive about paging things out, but if the wear indicator is good, I wouldn't worry about it. Can't check that on my Windows PC, as it has 32GB of RAM, so I turned the page file off.
As for spreading writes across the disk, any good SSD will do that automatically to try to even out the wear. The SSD will typically also contain a few gigabytes of spare flash which will only be used to replace bad blocks once it starts to wear out (e.g. mine appears as 240GB to the operating system, but probably has 256GB of flash).

Only half a speed-brake
The split to C/D could have detrimental effect, depending on the configuration used. The SSD's health monitoring logic should take care of it, so no need to worry.
The RAM size comment, is an important one. In case you have only 4 or less, go for 8. Reinstall W10 clean in 64bit, use the integrated AV, stay away from the likes of CCleaner. Since re-install would require meticulous transfer of data onto E/F, once everything is there it would be a good idea to make a full copy of that onto the USB drive. Malware ridden PC is not the problem, even if part of a bot-net, sending spam. Loss of personal work is!

I remember standing in Compuadd or some such store in Texas and agonizing over the OEM pack 64 or 32 bit W7. I went for the lesser as in those days people were moaning about old software not running. I came home with the 32. Buggah.
I put the motherboard and disk in me bags when I came home and scrapped the case. Here, I re-cased and reloaded the OS onto the SSD. MS, bless them, agreed the change and even knew how many seats my MS Office had left unloaded. One was as taken aback as impressed. The odd thing is, I also bought home my Vaio i7, with 8 gigs, but never took to it. Something about the screen tone I've never resolved and even cleaning out the brass heat exchanger fitments I was never sure about hunting fan speeds.
Note: W10 upgrade on the PC left me with an oddly poor picture on the LG 1440 screen. Footling with the gamma seems to have fixed that, but going over to the Sony, there is not the same menus offered.
Anyway, I'm stuck with 3-point-something gigs usable on 32 bit. Given that I'm a kind of wandering Nomad, I really must get rid of big boxes. Guess it's time to say goodbye to PCs. It seems the rest of the world is, taking the worldwide drop in sales as a guide.
A compromise between PC and Laptops seems to be little black boxes that cost a lot. Bewilderingly clever, but may as well have a laptop.
My must haves: My keyboard, even if the letters are worn off. Think a sentence and it appears on the screen as though by magic. Can't be doing with silly laptop keyboards, or Giant's Causeway cubes to rattle out words.
Screen res of 1440 to 1600. My Asus in Texas needed a screen the size of a wall to see the detail. I need to edit books, not enter into Avatar reality.
Reading my own words. There must be a huge number of people like me. Well, okay, not like me, but that like power without battles going on in castles. I do not want a Gatling gun instead of an arm, and do not want to spent eternity creeping around stone walls in infinite cerebral constructs.

I started into that article with the same enthusiasm I had when HDs offered 120 mb - if they were the big ones. After two pages my neurons grew aluminium whiskers and my brain went into BSOD mode.

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks; I installed 32bit W7 and am about to swap to 64bit.

Hee hee, I know. A writing pal is thinking of going that route though it seems a lot more money for a lesser spec. What's more, since the Kaspersky file arrived, I have computers again.
Getting a larger SSD might be the answer, and not partitioning it. That's if it is spreading the load automatically.
I pay so little for my kit - or I did in Texas. That list that Craig made found me an Asus executive thing with i5 and 1080 for $350 and a Vaio i7 with 8gigs for about the same. I'll have another go at making the screen a bit more pleasing and bring that into the daily loop. (it was the same on this monitor at 1440. It's own native res is 16-something.)
However, this PC with SSD and W10 is up and running by the time I've got me backside on the seat. The W7 Sony is halfway back to Vista times.

That kind of company was assuring everyone they could buy the OEM version but as we've discussed in the past, MS had quite different ideas. I had all my receipts for the parts and they were okay about it. They seem to appreciate people discussing it. However, I recall we've discussed upgrades of any kind on the W10 discussions. Getting all my 4 gigs would give that bit more shoulder room.
