French base
Is cityjet the only airline that hires for french bases without requiring the crew to be fluent in french initially? I really wana be based in france to improve my french (which is at conversational level at the mo) Anyone know if cityjet's the only option or not?
Would Cityjet look at GCI?
What are the chances of Cityjet operating a LCY-GCI route?
The business community in Guernsey are crying out for an alternative to LGW & would swallow a high fare for the convienience of flying straight into LCY.

CityJet Structure
I'm probably asking a very stupid question but...I was just wondering if someone could clarify the structure of CityJet for me. I'm aware that it's a wholly owned subsidiary of Air France and is based in Dublin.
Am I right in saying they offer two different services? From LCY it would seem to be "CityJet for Air France" and they'd appear to be changing the livery of these aircraft to the simple red stripe up the tail? Are the flights from Paris branded as "Air France by CityJet" with the Air France livery? If so, why do they have this split?
Hope that makes some sense! Thanks

I'll try to make things clearer for you. Yes Cityjet is a wholly owned subsidiary of Air France. However its also an airline in its own right. It is an Irish registered company, has its headquarters in Dublin and all its planes are Irish registered. It has an AOC of its own, and operated flights from Dublin to Malaga a few years ago in its own right. However currently it operates all flights under Air France flight numbers. Air France by Cityjet is Dublin-LCY and all the routes to/from Paris. Cityjet for Air France is everything else.

You missed out:
Cityjet for Air France operated by ScotAirways (thats used for the D328!)
I think it is a bit confusing for the customer, but in time once the fleet becomes fully Cityjet it will straighten out.
It confuses me that they have cityjet and air france liveries on the A/C. Should be one or the other!

It is noticeable that the RJ85s mix and match on all routes with either colour scheme to be seen. Why they just don't operate as Air France is a mystery, as it's daft having Scot Airways in CityJet colours flying on Air France flights. I mean come on !

Also Irish Corporation Tax (12.5%) is significantly lower than French Corporation tax (33%). They don't want to market the airline as Air France since the French tax authorities could bring a case against them stating that Cityjet is just a facade to avoiding paying French corporation tax. Also as far as I know Cityjet isn't unionised (please correct me if I'm wrong). If they integrated it into Air France presumably the Air France unions would want to be able to represent the cityjet workers.
Overall they want to keep Cityjet seperate from the rest of Air France, hence the different colours. As far as I know Scot Airways isn't actually owned by Cityjet or Air France so presumably thats why they have a seperate livery.
