Cool Regarding pilot training in USA.

Hi,

I am Indian resident and i have a passion to become a pilot from childhood. My qualification is BSc. Computing with Software engineering from UK. At present my age is 28 and i weight 97kg. But i am working hard to reduce weight.
Don't have any flying experience. Hence i need to start from scratch.

In India pilot training school are not good, it is very expensive, some school are tired up with foreign pilot training school, fees are too high, duration of courses are long which incur more tuition fees, main reason all old model flight. Whereas if i complete the training in foreign then i can save years.

q1] What is the maximum age to become a pilot?

q2] Don't want to work for Indian airlines? Therefore planning to take course in abroad? Hence please let me know which school is best for it, which provides more flying hrs and fees are less? i need flight experience in both day and night?

q3] After completion of pilot training, how easy it is to get a job as an international student? i don't want to convert into DGCA licence. i just want to settle in abroad after finishing my training and get a job over there.

q4] Which country is much expensive?

Bye

The least expensive pilot you will ever find is in the US...that is quality flying training. Simply because there is so much of it. You must be careful, your profession is a very perishable one. When you are away from the computer for any length of time you loose some skills or technology passes you by. I recommend staying away from aviation for a living! Do it for fun. That is from one who has spent 30 years in aviation.

@Sam_25

While Pilot training is cheapest in the US due to friendly GA policies and low costs of avgas

Dont hope that after getting a pilot license in the US you will he eligible for employment with an airline in the US

All the employers in the US require you to have Permanent Resident / Citizenship in order for them to hire you
You can check the websites of various airlines in the US

And that is pretty much the case in all the developed countries like the US , Canada , Australia , Europe , New Zealand etc
There is no shortage of pilots in these countries and hence they dont need / wont hire foreigners to fly as pilots in their respective countries

So there is no point in going to each individual region on pprune and asking the same question again

I know I'll probably get in trouble for saying this, since apparently discussing one's language abilities is somewhat frowned upon around here, but in my opinion if the English you display here is the best you can do, you don't stand a chance in heck at an airline job. Not because you're a bad person or anything of that sort, it's just that in an emergency, I need someone I can understand next to me. Before the haters speak up, I'm typing this in my fourth language.

@Cyrilroy:

I´m interested in doing a Faa CPL in the US, so I talked to a representative of an aviation school in the US.(Right now i´m in Europe)

We all know the schools just want our best....our money.

But she said, pilots for especially aeroplanes are sparse at the moment in the US. Does anybody can confirm this.

As I´m on a visa, the big Airlines can be negligibled.

Greetings

SB, that lady is telling you what you want to hear. Before you believe any bullsh!t from those who have a vested interest in parting you with your money, do some research.
There are plenty of threads here on Pprune about the truth or otherwise of pilot shortages. Ask around about how many pilots in the USA are on furlough; ask those with new commercial licenses how they are getting on with their job applications. If you want to see someone duck and weave, ask the school that is so keen to train you to put you into email contact with recently graduated students so you can learn of their success finding flying jobs. Ha ha.
Look at the European, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand threads here and you should get the picture. There is not - and never will be - a pilot shortage. Particularly at the entry level.
When you read about shortages in places like China, bear in mind they are only interested in hiring experience for their heavy iron until they get enough of their own nationals trained.

SB128,

Since you're on a visa, any kind of job in aviation in the US can be ruled out.

@Sierra Barvo 128

Go to a school that lets you " Pay as you Go " i.e you pay for the flight after you have flown it

Dont go to the ones that ask for money upfront . That only means they are using your money to finish off the training of existing students

If the flight school does not agree to pay as you go then tell them you will go to another one that offers this method of payment
