US ATP requirements

Hi,
What are the requirements to hold an ATP certificate in the US? I read 1500 hours on the ALPA magazine but what is the breakdown? In Canada, my hours as first officer counts only for 50%. Is it the same in the US?

thanks!

The requirements are found in our regs 61.151, .153, .155, .156, .157 and .159. The last section, .159, has the hours breakdown. You have to have 250 hours PIC. The other 1250 hours could be SIC. There is a limit that you can only count 500 hours of FE time towards the 1500 hours.
