What would be the difference in a320 rosters at mainline vs euroflyer?

I’ve tried to find examples of rosters for either and can’t seem to find it anywhere.

How many days off a month etc.

Can anyone possibly point me in the right direction?

Mainline is 1-5 day trips with a heavy emphasis on weekend working at the junior end of the rosters. Daytrips popular at the senior non commuter end. 4-5 day trips popular with commuters for obvious reasons. Very difficult to say what a typical roster looks like as it’s seniority and preference dependent. As a new junior FO I’d suggest it’d be mainly 2-4 day trips over most (every?) weekends. That’ll improve as you move up the list fairly quickly with current recruitment forecasts.

Euroflyer is exclusively single day trips to more leisure focused destinations and has a seasonal bias.

Thank you for that information.
Would you say that mainline is more suitable for commuters as the patterns are longer than Euroflyer?

When you apply with one of the BA companies, you're kind of stuck with them, unable to reapply to another one, need to know what I'm getting into before applying..

Yes mainline is much more suitable for commuters. Depends on the distance as to whether you could make EF commuting work but I imagine it’d be pretty difficult. Experience etc dependent I’d strongly suggest going all out to get into mainline if you’ve made the decision to join. In my opinion of course.

At LHR junior 320 rosters can be pretty brutal, but as you have nights away with Hotac and duty pay it’s probably better for commuters (especially if you’re okay with all your days off being weekdays).

LGW seems to have a shallower gradient between junior/senior rosters. Most months you can expect 10 days off with anywhere between 0 and 9 standby days, which is alright if you live locally but not if you’re looking to commute… although I believe they’re about to trial a fixed pattern similar to the EZY 5/4/5/3

Hi can anyone shed light on a typical Eurofly LGW roster for a captain, and can you explain the roster codes RSD - reserve day ? And how that works ?, PRSV ?, AVA ? TDO, ODO ? TS, FT, WR, and LB.

currently flying up to 99 hours in 28 days 850-900 a year so would that be similar ?

also any info on holidays, stby duration currently 12 hours and call-out time as currently have to be at aircraft in 1hour from phone call.

appreciate if you need to Pm a reply thanks

Hi,

Ive read the thread and am mainly here for info regarding the new, pre-recorded video assessment. Ive seen people posting it is 3 questions etc. Does anyone have any further information or experience regarding this stage?

Thanks

takeoff320 20th June 2023 11:45

Hi all,
I hope everyone is doing well.
Would someone be kind enough to advise of the new recruitment process for mainline? There is some ambiguity about the assessment process. Having completed the online recorded interviews, at the assessment stage, what tests now take place? Is it simply an aptitude test or is the maths and verbal reasoning still being used?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

I wish everyone the best of luck.

It’s just the capacity test, group exercise and HR interview on day 1 followed by the simulator a few weeks later.

No more maths test and verbal reasoning.
