SSTR (i.e. non cadet recruitment) was always approx. 25K for the TR paid for by the candidate - no salary sacrifice. I will nigh on guarantee EZY wont bond you for the TR - they will expect you to pay for it. EZS is just about to or has become a TRTO so it may well be done through them. There I believe it is 30000 CHFs or about £20000.

If it's £20,000 for a type rating I'm out. If they deduct from salary I might be in. It'll be interesting to see what's on offer
|
Oh oh oh! Guy of gisborn what a threat!!!
If you are out some behind will be in, and easyjet will always have cadets and type rated park aviation applicants, so dont worry to much, they won't be sad if you don't join. Welcome to the new aviation world. All about money, that's the key word to success. |
Then you're out. It'll probably be £25k and if they do a bond/ salary sacrifice I will fall through my ar$e. Consider the opportunity cost for you here. I wouldn't recommend writing it off so impulsively. I have flown with ex Tornado instructors with 1000s of hours instructing who had to pay ezy for the TR.

And your point is? |
Wind check, I've been in aviation for 16 years, I understand how the aviation industry works. Your petty, childish reaction to my statement (I think you need to clarify the definition of threat) is laughable. Yes of course if I don't accept the terms offered (if I'm successful) easy will look to the next candidate from this round of applications. Remember this recruitment drive is to fill a void of experience missing in the current system (easy TRE's words not mine) so parc CTC is not naturally the next point of call.
WhyByFlyer, I know guys like that too who joined easy 5 years ago however, it's still not clear what will be on offer. 25k is a lot of money and I won't be able to get it together any time this year. |
Shame on them
Its almost unbelievable some of the conversations about the possible terms and conditions with this outfit almost akin to shady deals done with second hand car salesman or loan sharks. The full t and c,s should be fully transparent fair and equitable, i.e they pay for the training(a bond) and pay a market rate for the job and pay toward a pension. It would appear that Monarch will still do this and treat our profession with the respect it deserves. I really think one would have to desperate to work for this Company, if its all smoke and mirrors from the outset what will be like once you,re in?

C'mon guy of gisborne, this recruitment is open to 1500 tt with 500 multicrew experience that can be reached on a king air. Do you call it experience?
There are plenty of qatar, emirates, wizzair crews available with a real experience, easyjet is  you. They just want some guys willing to pay for a type rating, remember THIS WAS PART OF THE REQUIERMENTS to apply. Yes Monarch offers better terms, and so what? Easyjet is a low cost airlines that is following the Ryanair way. |
Yes it would be really helpful if someone has the T and C's that Easy are offering with this recruitment.
|
wind check, as mentioned before on here, the wording was be prepared.
That still isn't to say you will have to. |
Does anyone have any constructive information about the next stage with reference to interview/group exercise etc. Any heads up information or helpful direction would be much appreciated.
|
And your point is? Ultimately my point was, with the greatest of respect, do what you like - everyone else will. EasyJet will expect you to pay for the type rating. If you aren't expecting that you may wish to work on your SA a little. |
Please only apply if you have the following minimum requirements:
· ATPL (Frozen) · Minimum 1500 TT Hours · Minimum 500 hrs. 5700kgs Multi-Crew & Turbine experience · Right to Live and Work in Europe · Airline environment experience · UK EASA license (or converted by start date) · Class 1 unrestricted medical · Willing to self-sponsor type rating On completion and submission of your application, we will contact you outlining the next steps of the process as soon as possible. Next steps involve the completion of online tests and a personality profile, followed by invitation to an assessment centre and sim assessment for successful applicants. |
Just play along with them for now, go to the interview and see what is offered. If you make it through, you will end up in a holdpool and for some unknown period of time. If and when they call you again, you can always say. "thanks but what you are asking from me is not viable." Maybe five people have already told them that in the previous hour. That is when they will have a rethink. If they don't change their mind, at least you will have had the option, done the right thing and got some interview sim experience if BA call.
Look at Jet2. Offering a combination of dodgy deals, good deals and everything in between. If enough people turn them down they will up the deal. It's a bit like haggling for double glazing. If you want it bad, prepare to be shafted! If you are prepared to walk away.....who knows? |
They just want some guys willing to pay for a type rating, remember THIS WAS PART OF THE REQUIREMENTS (corrected) to apply. |
Frankly I find it hard to believe that some of the high hour guys in the run will accept having to pay for the rating when most of them are already earning a decent salary elsewhere. Let alone giving up their command.
So let's spin this a little further. eJ have eventually completed the process of filtering out their 100 preferred candidates, a laborious task costing the company a fair bit of money. Mind you, those 100 the ones meant to increase the level of experience. Some time later those 100 people eventually receive the long-awaited call to start training. I understand a highly unlikely scenario, but what if all of those 100 (and perhaps also the additional 20 eJ have screened on top of the 100 to safeguard against losing people seeking other opportunities in the meantime) suddenly cool off and one by one is turning them down when being asked to pay for the rating? |
Found this, not sure if anyone has already posted it. It is for CTC Flexi crew,
if it's going to be this expensive (depending on whether Ez cover anything) I doubt (would think those in Employment already and not in a huge rush to join Ez unless the terms are half decent) would be turning it down. It is out of date, but I cant find anything more recent..... http://www.ctcaviation.com/pdfs/Self...ting_Apr11.pdf |
easyJet is a business.
Ryanair do not need experience crews and will never pay for a type rating, unless you are an experienced captain joining on the LHS. This system WORKS. Same in Wizzair, same in Vueling, same everywhere. Nowdays, if you want to have an A320 type rating or a B737NG type rating I am affraid you will have to pay for it. If you don't then hundred of other people will, and that's it. Gold old days are over. All the rest is . |
...
Any idea on how many guys are going for stage 2???
|
If you don't then hundred of other people will, and that's it. Yes the application criteria states, · Willing to self-sponsor type rating I think it is a fair point to say that judging by previous posts, there is a mixed bag of people successful at this stage, and I am sure that for those this offer suits, will take it, while others will most likely be happy where they are. I divulge, back on topic......anyone with any insight into the next steps, please step forward. Any insight appreciated so we can find out what the ACTUAL Ts and Cs are ;-) Good luck to all in moving forward in the process. |
