Reference NSF I used to enjoy his contributions to the Forum.

Veetwo, one smartarse person was trying to take away tea or coffee - He decided to try and destroy lives for his own benefit in a disgustingly greedy way. He was authorised to do so by that other incompetent imbecile that is no longer with easyJet. It wasn't easyJets fault, the company was as much a victim.

....and in the flight deck..!

BlackandBrown means the; "Let's get rich quick, Andy and Cor Show".

That tea and coffee stunt cost the company £400,000 in extra fuel being taken out of protest. Cue emails from the 'top' saying, "sorry, get the point."

Used to be a very useful source of information on this forum, and of course some people didn't always like to hear the truth. His insight and information is missed...

What happened to NSF? I'm not EZY but used to value his views and expressions over the current climate within orangeville.

I am sure NSF will be touched by all your kind thoughts, but from what I understand he will not be returning any time soon.

Yes, superced, we know you hated easyJet as it was a terrible company etc, but like Doug the Head it is all a bit short on detail and long on ranting. I note your mate Doug has been unable to name a single airline on the planet that is not a national carrier which is better than easyJet - maybe that tells you something. I thought he may opt for Southwest Airlines, but apparently not. I have significant sympathy for the reasons that Craggenmore and others left easyJet - they like life in the desert, fly great aircraft all around the world and have adapted well to their new culture. It is not something that would do a lot for me, but it has brought career fulfilment to many ex-pats and if it works for you and your family then that is great - go for it. My point is that easyJet has been both a career airline for some, myself included, and for others it has been a gateway of opportunity to a world previously closed to them. Either way, it is a great place to be, and I can heartily recommend it.

The Meerkat's last couple of sentences hit the nail on the head. I spent 5 years working for Easy, not without the usual frustrations that all airline pilots will be familiar with, but overall I enjoyed my time there. Leaving was a really hard decision and was driven purely by a desire to try long haul and being just about young enough to join the bottom of a seniority list and start all over again. Some people will find things to moan about wherever they work, the simple truth is that easyjet is becoming an airline that does offer a viable and sustainable career/lifestyle, and the past year has seen some great improvements. Secure job, great crew and a friendly, relaxed working environment - not many airlines tick all those boxes.

Good post, although I would say that the I'm still trying to find out what are the improvement that you are referring to... I do realize our operation has somewhat improved from what could be described as dreadful to something more respectable... but that's not exactly a lifestyle improvement per se... it was just vital to our operation as another 2010 summer chaos this year would surely have put the company itself in jeopardy.

Sustainable lifestyle? Over 30 years or more - certainly not. Personnaly I will not kid myself into thinking I will retire after nearly 40 years of eJ...however for now and until things improve in the big world out there...it isn't such a bad place to be.

All I want to say is that everyone has his/her own priorities, and the "dream work" it´s far from exist. Honestly, I think that EZY offers a good package regarding wages/roster/basing and so on. If you dont agree, just open your eyes, and take a look to other european operators...you´ll be surprised :{.

That is a bit harsh.

The posters history would suggest they are probably Spanish, or that is their first language. Their use of spelling and punctuation is actually excellent if English is a second language. In fact it is much better than average from many posters for whom English is their mother tongue and clearly only tongue.

Forgiving the use of "coz," I can see why they would be successful if the rest of their abilities where as accomplished as their use of English.

eJ is percieved quite differently depending on which country one is in. For most UK pilots it's a distinctly average place to be, and there are better places to go - which is what many do.

Look at it from a Spanish/Italian/French point of view and it is a very very very good deal indeed. The mainland contracts are realistically comparable to other major carriers in the country and even much better than some of the local offerings. Add to that the security of working for a huge company that has been consistantly making money, decent base morale, very good command prospects and it's no surprise they are more excited than someone with similar experience from the UK.

I think that babotika's take on the easyJet deal on mainland Europe is completely correct. However, I also think that for many pilots in the UK, easyJet is not an average airline. I fully accept that current BA pilots would be unlikely to come here, but if I was at Thomas Cook right now I would be biting easyJet's hand off to come here. Just out of interest, how many airlines in the world can offer 93 different destinations from one base, as is the case at Gatwick? It is not all bad, and many people really enjoy it.

Does anyone have any confirmation of this? I applied for the DEP from the EZY website, but as Aviator3200 says I cannot risk leaving a safe job and quit for a contract.

I know that Parc are recruiting for EZY, but the criteria are different so I have assumed that the normal recruitment is going to continue?
