For info, I've also voted no. Just hope all come together on this and get something reasonable/better.

justbrowsing 26th January 2011 09:49

JB,

Without opening a rather large can of worms, we were told by the Flybe we would start on 27k. Unfortunately there was a pay deal that had been agreed just before we started. Our starting pay was reduced by around 4k.

Take this into account with the Euro exchange rate changing from around 1.46 in 2007 to almost 1:1 at one point it can turn best laid plans upside-down.

I don't regret making the decision to become a pilot, I think Flybe are a good company to work for. That said, they can afford to offer us a better deal. The pay offer makes almost no difference to monthly net income. Something that is very important to all of us trying to cope with the increases in living costs.

As already mentioned on here, the scheduling part of the deal is reason enough to vote no.

Got back from abroad. Found envelope. Opened it. Crossed "No" and back into the post it went.

Total time - under 5 minutes.

I hope the Managers' magical mystery (propaganda) tour, isn't turning too many heads today.

Sick 26th January 2011 14:05

or stomachs!

Boing7117 26th January 2011 17:07

No from me. Sent in the post in the last hour.

Cutoff 26th January 2011 17:59

A big fat NON. Mine took about five secs too.

Lord Spandex Masher 26th January 2011 18:04

Do any of you know anobody who has or will vote yes!?

Cutoff 26th January 2011 18:06

I have heard from one or two that are just fed up with the situation and are going to vote yes to get it over with. But they seem to be in the minority.

Lord Spandex Masher 26th January 2011 18:09

Thanks Cutoff,

That's a good sign then, about time too.

Out of interest what are they fed up with? It's not as if they're missing out on anything extra by being a bit patient, is it?

Cutoff 26th January 2011 18:16

Some people just want the quiet life. Up to them.

SmilingKnifed 26th January 2011 18:37

I had a fairly heated in flight-discussion recently with a non-BALPA captain as I'm, 'Going to cause him to lose his job.'

Some of the usual gob!!!!es have been on Facebook voicing their opinions, but overwhelmingly I see a no vote. I just hope the Greek post office come good (twice!) on my ballot paper before the deadline.

wannabe024 26th January 2011 20:33

I'm not employed by FlyBe, but I've been following the thread with keen interest. I just wanted to say good luck with the ballot.

As you all know, the same thing is happening throughout the industry. A handful of Directors are taking home large bonuses purely as a result of decimating the lifestyles and incomes of their employees.

It has to stop.

JimNich 27th January 2011 12:27

I voted yes actually.

assymetricdrift 27th January 2011 12:42

That "militant" comment made me laugh. There wasn't anything too militant about the response he made was there?

I thought the response was quite calm from the "militant one".

And as for stalking ex girlfriends... Oh er! Now there's a novel idea... not that I would advise it in my case!

turbowhat 27th January 2011 12:50

Big no from me! When they withdraw our staff travel can they also cancel any already printed tickets? Just don't want to get stuck in foreign land!

Wellington Bomber 27th January 2011 15:04

You would Jim Nic, dont want to upset the cushy lifestyle in Inverness as they are overcrewed are they not.

Every man for himself, that is what they want everybody

Rob82 27th January 2011 15:39

One thing that strikes me is how much the company are pushing the deal. Publishing their newsletter first, then base visits, and now a letter trying to back up their side of the story with Q&As.

This just shows how they are trying to pull the wool over everyones eyes. If this joke of a deal gets through they will be laughing their heads off and will probably award all the directors another huge bonus because of all the money they will be saving with us...... Needless to say my form was back in the post within 30 minutes of landing on my doorstep.

CRX 27th January 2011 21:08

INV cushy?
Nah not where I am sat.
Just got in after 6 days on, long days most of them.
We are certainly not overcrewed on the Dash, can't speak for the 195.
The Dash captains are running amongst the highest for duty we have been told, so much that a 6th captain was being requested by flight ops.
Lets not fight guys, some will say yes, most will say no. Some wont have a say at all, but we do all have our own agendas to mind as well as for the greater good of all.
My priority is to keep 'my' small base viable so my family can live where we choose to live, anything else is a bonus.

Beer calling, goodnight.

CRX.

Shadow Walker 28th January 2011 15:29

captains requested by flight ops ???? !!!!!!!1
give me a break !! that i definately do not believe !!

Cutoff 28th January 2011 21:24

I was back in today after a few days off and ended up sat chatting in the crew room about the paydeal (as you can imagine) and mention was made, during this weeks visits to the base by management, of a base captain saying that if they found any individual that had voted 'no' they would slap them. Now whilst they might not actually slap them I thought it spoke volumes of their attitude toward their base crews, but perhaps it was silly of me to actually think that instead of this repsonse they might actually want to find out why their crews felt that a no vote was required?
