5354 more costly? Well, if you look at pilot productivity then as long as the pilot force fly close to 900 hrs per year then the amount of days off vs duty days is irrelevant. However, I believe a fixed roster requires more/better planing and roster stability to work, it gives the company less flexibilty ie when things go wrong - bad wx with lots of diversions, crew running out of hrs or a/c going tech - then fixed rosters gives less options for the company.

I don't really understand why I keep reading stuff about Andy Harrison and Cor being so determined to get rid of it. Has it caused that many issues related to flexible crewing? I'd have thought the mass exodus would be much more costly. |
I have been in the easyJet pool (with piece of orange paper to prove it) since March and still have not been called. Is anyone else in this position? Has anyone got a start date in 2008 yet?
I know the purchase of GB means everyone is busy, but does anyone know what is going on? |

From what I know there's more than 100 pilots in the pool, only 30 pilots are needed for 2008. Things could change next week though so don't give up -unless something better comes up of course :) |

FlyBe or Easy?
Ok guys a quick question, if I had to choose between U2 and BE which one offers the better outlook long term. I atleast will stay at this level short term and then move on to bigger and better things like EI but, I don't want to pay for a TR. I shelled out nearly 100,000 USD for both FAA and JAA raitings up the wazoo and don't want to pay even a penny for a TR so what options would there be? (I do have over 1,000 hours instructing).
