Wizzair

I cann't find the older threats about Wizzair, so can somebody give me some informations about the workingconditions there?
Does somebody know what questions they will ask at the interview and how the assessment looks like?

Thanks for the infos in advance!!

Hahahahahahahaha! So this is how JP and MS want to solve the pilot shortage issue? Very funny captain Paul, keep Žem coming!! :D

From a route perspective it would make sense. Take the competition off the BUB ana WAW routes, plus open up a huge chunk of Eastern Europe into the EJ network.

However, I'm not sure how the 320's would work for for them, and also if they took on some of the Wizz staff, I can see some cultural clashes shall we say.

Cheers

Wizz = Wazz air...

Tried to apply fpr them a couple of times but no reply at all... Although I am quite experienced...

And eJ buying the company??? :=

But hey- I could be wrong! Since it was 8 years ago ;)

Kraut 28th May 2006 14:39

Why not buying WIZZ AIR?
Rumors say that EZY want to go to Poland and Eastern Europe anyway! So they could avoid the big clash with BALPA (contract/pay details) by using a different AOC, like EZY SWISS.

EZY Swiss have better T&C'S that EZY and you can understand why.On the other hand working for the same company for a lot less will create much more than culture clashes don't you think?

Norman Stanley Fletcher 30th May 2006 22:58

I imagine that if this rumour is true, which I suspect it is not, then a 'happy' compromise would be found by which the ex-Wizzair pilots now working for easyJet received a raise but were still paid less than their western-based colleagues. If they subsequently chose to move to easyJet's western european bases then they would attract the same salaries as their colleagues there. The bottom line for me is that if we are to advance into the old 'East' then it is clearly nonsense to suggest we pay the same salaries as someone based in London or Paris. That view is not held by our union, but I cannot see any credible way forward without some sort of split-base salary structure. Remember if these guys got a 15% pay-rise they would be living very well indeed in Krakow or Warsaw.

Agent Oringe 31st May 2006 08:35

If you were living in Krakow or Warsaw but still paying for a Mortgage in UK, it would be a different story.:}

Kraut 31st May 2006 08:47

That is true! But you do not have to go there! Guess, why I never considered to join WIZZAIR?
On the other hand, if you are working on a "True EZY/UK Contract", I AM SURE BALPA will prevent that those pilots have to work in the "EAST" on low salaries!
Hence, there are a lot of araising problems to be observed! IF it should happen!

What are these better Ts and Cs exactly?

FlapsOne - The T&Cs are not better... I have a copy of the pay "deal" that was turned down by "swiss" in jan/feb this year....
Thing is, it is VERY difficult to compare pay in the UK with pay in Swiss....By/rent a house is close to the same I guess (London GVA) but then you have costs for school, insurance, health care, pensions etc etc.... The pay is, as far as I can see, very similar though....

Thanks CP.

To be honest, I knew that already but just wanted to see the response.

It's amazing how often the subject comes up when there is no basis in fact!!

Kraut 31st May 2006 11:39

Folks, we are drifting away from WIZZAIR. (incl. myyself):=

airamerica 31st May 2006 12:52

''To be honest, I knew that already but just wanted to see the response.''
Yea right.

''The bottom line for me is that if we are to advance into the old 'East' then it is clearly nonsense to suggest we pay the same salaries as someone based in London or Paris.''

Firstly,Who exactly is ''we'' in all of this? You are speaking along the same lines as management does in any company.WE THIS WE THAT!

Secondly, And why not?Unless you are management of course than that will be a completely different story and a very viable proposition.
How can you justify the same type of work to be renumerated differently????What a hipocrite.Consider inflation for starters.
That in is self will no doubt errode T&C's further and further.
Another alternative could be to close EZY UK(not surprising) and then employ all benevolent's under an eastern contract. It can happen,we are all EU after all, beside the inteligent Swiss of course.
Unless you are short sighted with regards to the future then continue with the rhetoric that in the long run will only benefit no one but lala land it self.

You are correct in assuming that paying the same is nonsense in these locations. I'd be more inclined to include an extra 'incentive' package for 'hardship'. Other than that, different pay for the same job is a pandora's box...not to be opened until the oil runs out:E

Ever wandered why wizz has one of the highest turn overs in the industry?
Working environment might be nice, and stable rosters but people are leaving because money is cr@p.
If management is wondering why such high rate of departure exists perhaps they should look at what they offer moneywise and compare it to other operators.
