Well...

Warsaw is a very nice city, on the other hand the mainbase of wizz is Kattowice, so if you would like to fly many routes, Kattowice is the first choice.

Poland has recently joined the EU.It`s eastern Europe ,normally it`s quite cheap there. The average salary in 2006 was 200 euro/month.(but you need much more than 200 euros!)

Because of the EU the prices are raising now.Especially in bigger cities (worst situation: Warsaw). But if you compare the prices with middle Europe ,(Germany, Austria etc..) it`s quite cheap.:ok:

If you would like to move to Poland, the salary being paid is quite ok, so you won`t have any problems.:ok:

Wizz air do also have a base in Budapest, but newcomers have to go to Poland as they don`t need pilots there.

Best place to live?

Hi Doggydog
I have lived in Warsaw and I have been many times in Gdansk. Warsaw can bee expensive but it can also bee cheap, it depends on what standard you prefer?, http://www.e-mieszkania.org.pl/ is a site with apartments for rent (choose mieszkania do wynajecia) it's in polish, it will give you some idea on the prices. Food prices are 10-20zl for a polish lunch,4-8zl for a beer,BigMac&Co 13zl.
Warsaw is nice but personally I prefer Gdansk because of the water and the beaches!

Best regards

Wizz Air

This is off the topic, but I'm curious to know if Wizz air accept FAA ATPL with an Airbus 320 TR and more than 500 hours on type. The website says License issued according to JAA, or ICAO?:) FAA is ICAO.

Any comments thanks :ok:

On the website I didnt find any online application form, it seems to me you just have to send CV and their "pilot data sheet" to either [email protected] or [email protected] ...is that correct or have I missed sumthing? Did you guys get replies from those adresses??

Thanx a lot

Wizzair

When I worked in Wizzair nearly 2 years ago, we had all nationalities licences.

Canadian, FAA, Dutch, British, you name it....They will give you a validation based on your licence...a CMC a Crew Members Certificate.

They are opening a new base in Bucharestas we speak, it is a great opportunity..

It was for me anyhow...Great people to work with and some great memories.

Fly4Fun 4th Feb 2007 12:56

Hi guys and gals

Just a curiosity, do you know if Wizzair have any night stops around europe?

Thanks to all

Happy landings :ok:

Dct_Bombi 4th Feb 2007 16:02

Ther used to be night stops in warsaw and gdansk for katowice crew but i think this has stopped , although not 100% sure.
Unfortunately the majority of the westerns have moved on, still a few left but not a social hive of activity as it once was in the skybar :-)
Great place but in a bit of a jam regards filling the chief pilot position (may be filled by now but last i heard there was a temp solution), and the little minnions that call themselves base captains are well ........

Crucial tools for KTW survival
1./ IPOD for crew bus
2./ Patience of a saint for cabin crew if you care to dabble
3./ Loyalty card for Club Bablyon
4./ Creative imagination (which can help to obtain No.3)

Aussie 5th Feb 2007 06:34

Dct_bombi....

Would you consider it a good place to kick off a career for a low hr pilot?

Dct_Bombi 5th Feb 2007 12:35

Yes For Sure, The flying end of it is varied, exciting short sectors and plenty of opportunity for visual, automatics off if you desire flying.
With out a doubt an amazing place to kick start your flying, every airline has its problems but from a purely flying end of it....Fantastic.

Aussie 5th Feb 2007 13:34
