Have any insiders got any info about whether the micropat tests have been dropped or not?

If previous assessment days were 0830-1630 and now they are 0830-1330 or 1130-1630, surely something has been reorganised?

.... surely something has been reorganised?
Yes, Health & Safety regulations have forced BA to drop the 'Barefoot Walking Over Glowing Coals Test' so a lot of time is saved there (not having to gag the participants, thus preventing their screams being heard in Feltham, saves a further couple of minutes too!).

I consider myself extremely fortunate in that, when I went through recruitment, BA had already stopped doing the 'Can You Poke Yourself In The Eye With A Sharp Stick Test' as it tended to nullify a lot of the Class 1 medicals of the candidates, and thus made recruiting a much more lengthy and difficult (and expensive) exercise.

FFS people, does it really matter ? Be ready for any and everything. Be there and cope. Rejoice in having been invited to an assessment day at all! :E

Around 80 or so of you will get the offer of a job - make sure you are at the top of any game on the day, because competition will be fierce. :ok:

Guys,

To cut a long story short, i'm having immense trouble getting time off for the forthcoming DEP selection that I have been shortlisted to attend. The only dates that remain are 10th/17th/18th November. I can not make any of these, but desperately want to attend.

Does anyone have a date on either 8th/9th, or 15th/16th November that they maybe willing to swop? It's a long shot and I doubt it, but you never know without asking! Also I have no idea whether BA would even allow it, but am keen to explore all available options. Please PM me if interested. Also, please no smart arse advice on calling in sick, or if I really want it i'll find a way etc...

Thanks in advance,
BB

"Thanks very much.........but no thanks" email has just arrived :ouch:

Never mind, bit disappointed. But not completely surprised as I am not sure I fitted the īBAīmould anyway, I started this game a little too late in life, 2yrs ago, and am now 40 with 1500hrs on 738. (1800 total)

Good luck to the rest. I shall lick my wounds in sunny Spain and continue to ferry MOLīs €9.99 wonders around and build up my hours for Emirates

VJW 23rd Oct 2010 18:33

one of the lads on here got an interview with 600 A320 800TT - but he was previously in the pool

Jordiejet 23rd Oct 2010 20:06

Sorry to ask again, but have any 757/767 pilots been invited to interview? It seems just 737 and A320 drivers have been invited. Can someone shed any light on this? Cheers jordie!

Baron buzz 23rd Oct 2010 21:14

no sponsor 24th Oct 2010 19:33

Applied on the first day it was open. I must have spent at least 8 hours on the application form on that one day. I spent as much time before that day just preparing and reading as much literature I could find on the company knowing selection was opening.

I just received an invite to the assessment day. I wasn't expecting an invite on a Sunday.

Made a note to myself: must not screw this one up like last time around.

Blinkz 24th Oct 2010 19:46

I too just received an invite to assessment. I submitted mine, rather rushed I have to admit! around 11pm on 8th October. I have 2200TT with 1400 on the A320.

I had an SSP assessment 2 years ago, I'll have to try and not muck this one up.

757_Driver 24th Oct 2010 19:51

Me too, applied on opening day, just received email inviting me. :ok: Pleasant surprise on a sunday evening!

eagle4 24th Oct 2010 20:59

BA answer yesterday

Thank you for your recent application for Direct Entry Pilot Scheme which we have now been able to review in greater detail. Due to very strong competition for this vacancy, we regret to advise you that after careful consideration, our decision is not to take your application further on this occasion. Should you wish to re-apply for a similar position again in the future, please note we cannot accept another application within one year. Due to the high volume of applications we are unable to offer feedback. May we thank you for the time you have given us and wish you every success in the future. Yours sincerely British Airways Recruitment :{
