Flying Torquewrench 21st Feb 2008 11:59

Thanks guy's for the reply's.

I had to cancel my selection day due to the flight on the previous day. As other people already mentioned I would like to be well rested before attending the selection. Unfortunately at the moment they have only the other slots available which run up to half april and i am working on every one of them. So will have to wait till the new dates come up.

Thanks also for the heads up on the sim. In the earlier posts on this thread they said that they had day 2 immediatly following day 1. Have to take that into account for rostering days off.

Thanks again, FT

Calculator allowed during numerical reasoning?

Hi - does anyone know if you are allowed to use a calculator during the BA numerical reasoning tests on Day 1? The example questions they send out imply that you can use one.

Thanks

In a word, NO! :=

I had the same question before I went too! Was S**ttin' myself! But dont worry, they are a lot simpler than some of the examples. Some take some time to work out in the exam, but if you struggle just move on to the next one...it worked for me anyways! I heard the pass mark was 18 out of 25 :ok:

randomair 23rd Feb 2008 09:27

"I heard the pass mark was 18 out of 25 "

incorrect, people have got in with less than that.

one post only! 26th Feb 2008 09:46

Incorrect!! Bit blunt wasn't it. ATC was only trying to pass on information he has heard. Chill!!!

randomair 26th Feb 2008 12:01

Fair comment, although I feel when you have numbers like 18 out of 25 being thrown around it tends to do more harm than good. People will prepare and perform as best as they can without such info.
When I did my selection processes; the worst thing thing that could of happened to me would be having the numerical reasoning test 1st, then had I not completed the "18 out of the 25 questions", it would have been in the back of my mind for the rest of the day, possibly having an impact on the other assessments.

Despite this I appreciate he/she was just passing on information, and contributing to the forum.

For the record I got less than 18 out of 25! :ok:

Think they still have 4 x 777 being delivered in 2009 though?

"Should you wish to re-apply for a similar position again in the future, please note we cannot accept another application within one year. "

I got the same mail. They plainly state that you can't re-apply for another year.

Computer Aptitude

Seeing lots of the same names as this time last year...guess we're all in the same boat!

Can anyone who's been to Day 1 'again' this year please tell me if there are any 'new' computer aptitude tests added, or are they only running the exact same tests as last year?

Thanks & good luck this time round.

Hi guys,

anyone knows what is the average wait from the application to the call for interview or cv rejection response?

Thank you very much for your help

CIPO 2nd Mar 2008 14:43

10-14 days. Dunno if it's shorter if you get a PFO. I'm playing that waiting game at the moment..........:hmm:

Lafyar Cokov 2nd Mar 2008 16:11

My "Please come to an interview" e-mail took about two months from application being submitted!!!

fruitbat 3rd Mar 2008 11:30

You will still have an initial 'engagement freeze' for the first 5 years. This however is at BA's discretion so if they need people on longhaul before then and you have bid, you never know..

Difference Between Pilot Assessment 1 and 2

Back to BA for another attempt - not been since early 2006.

Noticed that the Pilot Assessment is split between Pilot Assessment 1 on Day 1 and Pilot Assessment 2 on Day 2.

Could anyone let me know what these are about - are they both MicroPAT tests / which ones are carried out on which day?

Thanks in advance for any information.

theearl 7th Mar 2008 13:18

I don't think there are any psychometric tests on day 2 anymore. Just the sim check with questions being fired at you at times of high workload.

Micropat

1) Any truth to the statement that you can improve your Micropat score playing videogames, if so which ones ?

Has anyone got any recent interview questions ( new to the thread 0

2) What kind of starting pay at BA ?

Being type rated on the 320 , guess I would go on the

Are there going to be a lot of pilots retiring in the next years ?
( Older pilots on the seniority list )

Thanks
