Dihaz,
thanks for the hint, but Maybe I am looking in a different place.
What I am doing is logging in and the website still showing me my summary initial application page and from there... no trace of what you mentioned.
Any help?

It means you don't have an invite to interview. Surely that is obvious? You'll be told if/when you do.

Dihaz 5th Sep 2011 00:03

flyer19832007 and Fiesler02,

Second wg100. It means you haven't been invited for and interview yet. It will only be there if you actually got an interview invitation by email.

six-sixty 5th Sep 2011 06:08

Some people have had an email saying they will be invited to an interview, but there aren't any dates yet. I think that's where the confusion lies.

Fiesler02 5th Sep 2011 08:15

Thanks Guys,
It is more clear now, I guess I have to wait
Cheers

clearedfortaxi 5th Sep 2011 11:31

yes, same here. the dates which were earlier availble have all been taken already i guess.

YYZ_Instructor 6th Sep 2011 07:30

Any news from the pool?
Has anyone been fished out lately?
I hope there will be some good news soon for the people treading water!

Drakestream 6th Sep 2011 17:09

Does anyone know when they'll be reopening the online application window for direct entry guys?

Sawadee 6th Sep 2011 20:26

Drakestream,

Not for a long time I hear, due to huge numbers applying of late.

goaroundnow 7th Sep 2011 13:52

Holding pool lasts (unless extended) for 1 year from Assessment Day 1.

GADriver 7th Sep 2011 15:31

Electronic logbooks. It was mentioned a few pages back, anyone have the definitive answer as to exactly what is required, the whole thing or the last so many pages?

Thanks

Kempus 7th Sep 2011 15:53

Goes on date you entered the pool ie date you got the good news call! I applied 330 days ago and awaiting a course date also so don't stress!

goaroundnow 7th Sep 2011 16:18

Things must have changed, then.

It definitely was the date you went to Day 1, not the day you got the good news.

Kempus 7th Sep 2011 16:56

That's what I thought so I sent them an email to find out and that was the reply. I also found out all courses for 2011 are full and short haul courses planned from Jan 2012 onwards.

OBK! 8th Sep 2011 20:08

Kempus what do you mean shorthaul courses from jan onwards? No longhaul courses in 2012? Or just for those interested in shorthaul, that's when they're planned?

SinBin 9th Sep 2011 07:55

Whatever course you are offered regardless of shorthaul or longhaul, take the first offered, seniority is king! From what I have been told by trainers I've flown with recently courses restart from December on the A320! Not sure about longhaul. The latest bid results are due out over the next week or two (for fleet transfers, commands etc), so a major load of training planning will be going ahead between now and Xmas is my guess! Lots of movement going on throughout BA!

Kempus 9th Sep 2011 09:18

As stated, take first course given but internal transfers have filled longhaul requirements. Unless you are rated or coming out the forces with heavy experience it looks unlikely any longhaul slots will be offered. Never say never but its unlikely.

Wirbelsturm 9th Sep 2011 13:23

Apparently there have been quite a few rated 744 guys come across from 'other' airlines and they have been shunted straight onto the 744.

There also seems to be a ramp up for DEP training onto the 777 next year as the company looks to fill crews for the remainder of the 777-300's due for delivery and they seem unwilling to release Airbus pilots from their type freezes early. Not unsurprising really as they would require two courses then and DEP 777 would only require one.

Decisions on the future aircraft at LGW seem to have been delayed until December with Embraer, 737NG and A320 Neo being in the running, obviously for aspirational joiners the numbers will be key.

Rumours abound that the take up on the 787 has been 'weak' as the company stipulates current 777 experience and most of those guys/gals don't want to move from a prime fleet.

All in all lots happening, LH DEP seems to be moving as of 2012 but, as stated above, don't hold out for DEP LH, seniority is everything and waiting a couple of months could put you back years in terms of seniority for fleets, bidding and command.

Have fun.

OBK! 9th Sep 2011 13:36

I think there is an element of longhaul lust amongst those I know waiting to join but like you say, seniority is important. Have to wait and see I suppose!

Wirbelsturm 9th Sep 2011 13:50

As I've explained before there is no 'rush' for Longhaul.

If you join now on the SH fleets then you will have your seniority number and thus your 'place' in the pecking order. If they did start recruiting directly to the LH fleets after a year or two you would sit there on SH feeling peeved until you realised that when you do move across all of those who went DEP before you will be pushed down beneath you for bidding.

The current situation means that those with 'decent' seniority on the Airbus are slotting into the 744/777 lists at over a third of the way up the list and achieving good rosters and decent bids.

Waiting is never a good option with BA.

BlackandBrown 9th Sep 2011 15:58

Waiting is never a good option with BA.
Get-there-itis anyone?
