Thumbs down The "Easy" Way?

Just thought this should be brought to the attention of all of those thinking of going to Easy Jet.

It appears the management seem rather worried about an impending mass exodus of Flight Deck.

Some fellow colleagues who are in the proccess of leaving this (warm and friendly?) company, have been told that the company will make it as difficult as possible for them to leave.

Many threats are being made by the managers of certain bases.

One of these is that references for Airport ID applications, will be based on the full payment of any outstanding bond owed before leaving the company. If this is not done, you are deemed to be "dishonest and untrustworthy" for purposes of the ID application.

An interesting view!

You are good enough to hold an ID for Easy Jet, but Easy Jet Management feel you are unfit to hold an ID for another airline.
According to the law this starts to become "a restriction to trade" and if that happens, it brings into question the whole ethics of bonding in the first place. Thanks Easy Jet!

Good luck and congratulations to those that are leaving this "Orange Nightmare." I'm sure there will be many more to follow.

Rgds

easy harrasment and bullying

It seems that easy treat their pilots with nothing but contempt whilst they are employees and then try to put the frighteners on them when they leave.Winston Churchill has just been named greates Briton and if I may be so bold as to parody one of his speeches," we will fight you in the crewroom, we will fight you in the boardroom, but WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER"

The pilot management team are way out of their depth at the moment and the pathetic ruses they are employing on leaving pilots only highlights their own inexperience. In fact, it is against the easyjet peoples handbook to "misuse office" and is classed as harrassment and bullying which will not be tolerated. Furthermore, any statement, verbal or published which lowers the esteem of the subject is defammation of character. Take these guys to the cleaners, they deserve it.

Have a word with the ID unit , they will tell you that Easyjet cannot do this because they are required by law to provide a reference. It is not a personal reference just proof that you were there and they can trace your whereabouts for security.
I had a similar experience a couple of years ago when I left GO, the CP did his best to block my move to another airline by refusing to provide a reference for ID purposes. A quick chat with the ID unit and reminding this CP that he would be breaking the law and Hey Presto ID pass issued!

I've just been through the same nightmare myself.
I wasn't bonded but still my ID refernce was withheld. When I rang the individual concerned I was told it had been posted along with another one. One week later, still waiting. Spending at least an hour a day on the phone trying to sort the whole mess out whilst supposed to be concentrating on a conversion course.
The original refernce request which had been sent 7 or 8 weeks previously had been totally ignored. The only way it got sorted was after BALPA got involved. Very stressful and totally uncalled for.

The fact is that as soon as you resign, the harrassment starts, and I dont care what "Mike Oscar" has to say in defence of EJ management. They are a shower.

My advice, admittedly a bit biassed, is to avoid at all costs.
Best of luck to those on the escape committee. Postcard from Switzerland on its way.

I'm 737-300 rated and was thinking about sending my CV there. well, I won't. God, what a hassle at all levels, working seems exhausting, getting paid what is due seems impossible, leaving is a war. I mean what is the point ???? All that is going to cost an awful lot to the airline especially on the training and operational sides. But after all, I think management are not trying to help at all and don't understand who is getting the airline up in the air. Some pieces of reality need to be restated clearly.

By the way, how does it go if pilots go for a good old strike ? (no need for unions to decide not to take the aircraft off the ground)

I can confirm all of that.
I am trying to leave to a better, less Orange company but the management doesn't help me at all.
They are giving me hard time for different reasons and I personnaly feel it as harrassement.

I can't wait to be out of this Orange nightmare.

Although I currently am only classed as a "wannabee". Do any of you "Orange" guys not belong to some kind of union? If you do and they are of any worth then surely they will have appointed a shall we say "**** Hot" solicitor who can argue on your behalf especially when some so-called manager tries to make it near impossible for you to leave.

I had a similar situation with a previous employer and if I remember correctly, an employer does not have to give you a reference at all. But what they most certainly cannot do is deliberately/maliciously give you a bad one if it is not warranted.
