new easyjet pilots!

Please be extra vigilant on joining easyjet at present since they are trying to change our terms and conditions.
Make sure you clarify ALL points on Joining.
The ojs ran out and we are just chewing pips at the moment.
It wont be long before we spit them OUT.

A bad day golfing is still better than a good day flying

Cool

Good to see ol'Skinback actually has time to add more relevant comments. He obviously misses talking to Bash!

The fact is you have to be careful wherever you go these days. Easy work you hard, so do others, terms change all the time, read your contract before signing it. If it is bad and you can get better elsewhere, go.

Don't join a company and then moan about the contract its too late, your bonded!

Dear alterego,
Yes life is definitely duller without the weekly Bash baiting! Fortunately he is held in extremely high esteem by ex-colleagues of his here at eJ that he hasn't been completely forgotten!!!!
Apparently 'mushroom knob' has continued where he left off now he's back on the Barbiejet!
Cheers Capt.Paul.

Please see my post on the "easyJet makes £72m" thread.

Some people will just never be happy.

Potential pilots....if you want to work for a dynamic airline, with nice shiny new aircraft, job security, rosters just as stable as anywhere else, a strong and proven business plan (despite the odd cock-up along the way), then look no further.

If not, and you are interested in short term gains but minus job security, etc. then look elsewhere.

with all due respect, Mike Oscar is talking out of his cakehole. I joined EJ a year or so ago and now feel like I've sold my soul to the devil. The company I joined in no way resembles the company that was sold to me during the selection process. Were it not for the bond, I would gladly dump the orange monstrosity and go back to my old job. I realise that it does look like a very attractive deal if you're out on the platform trying to p*ss into the train, so if you do decide to join the company despite the numerous warnings posted here on Pprune, at least have the foresight to bring your own supply of KY jelly, and prepare to be royally shafted.

overdoverover and pilotofjet

Maybe as I'm not close enough to the discussions on T+C's my post was a bit strong, in which case I am prepared to moderate it slightly if you wish.

However, based on what I've seen and heard of the current Go and eJ T+C's I get the impression that the shape of the overall package being proposed was a pretty good compromise in most areas, whilst bearing in mind that the company simply could not take the "Highest Common Denominator" from each element of the two current packages.

I still however stand by my views that as a company we have done well, but should not be complacent. Average fares and yields are down, competition is increasing, etc. etc. We are all very fortunate to be in what (hopefully) are secure jobs, and I am very concious that the pages of PPRUNE are quite depressing at the moment with the number of airlines 'in trouble'.

Having been made redundant once (not a nice situation), I for one am prepared to put up with some of the cr@p for the sake of paying the mortgage and supporting the family in the longer term.

If Easyjet pilots consider themselves to be the only ones suffering:

Lots of airport standby
Hard work
Changing terms and conditions
Being disregarded
No life
Shambolic rosters
KY jelly overheads

Then either they have'nt worked for any other airlines of the same type and size, or said airlines simply have'nt caught up/caught on yet.

The entire industry in this sector will be a nightmare to work for soon, so you may as well dig in with the ones that will survive; That'll be the only career choice decider very soon.

Dear Anthony

You're obviously a product of some quality airline(s).

As money seems to be their God, maybe sooner or later these a**holes running the show will realise that they can actually make more of it by NOT screwing everyone!!!!

The crappyer ones like Easy will get their come-uppance once the market swings again, as it always does. They are getting away with it while they can, but I remember the times they were losing pilots quicker than they could get adverts in Flight!

From my experience they are not nearly all as rotten as this particular Orange.

Question

Puzzle me this....

Mike Oscar,

If you dont know about the T & C's on offer then dont comment! You are way off the mark - those on offer are an abomination and an insult to those of us who have been putting in the extra mile for this company for far too long. That is why they have not been put to the ballot. It is why so many are so aggrieved. As for stable rosters....

Be warned :

The grass is not always greener.

Why are people leaving MAJOR uk operators to join eJ? Iwonder!
